  1. I hope this is an active thread over the next few months so we can get our Baseball fix. It's always a sad day when the Tiger season ends.
  2. Feels weird and sad like moving to a different state or graduating college. You know good things are ahead but that warm fuzzy is over.
  3. I agree with you but doesn’t this statement apply every year ?
  4. Can we extend that to Badoo and Carpenter in the field ? Four runs donated today.
  5. Hard to get a read on Scot Harris for me but it seems we need to get aggressive with our personnel decisions if we are going to make the next step up. Do we trade from our "core" to get players that fit better. In other words do we trade players like Carpenter, Keith, Jung, Holten, Foley, Manning and Rogers who have trade value for players that can actually play a position of need defensively AND hit? For an example a player like Jordan Westberg from the Orioles (who are deep with infielders) would solve second or third base on both sides of the ball. Hard to trade your best prospects but it's possible their value will never be higher. Ditto with relief pitchers and perhaps Rogers and Carpenter. I like Rogers but his control is waning and catchers have lots of trade value. Is Carpenters' power for real and enough to justify poor/ iffy fielding yet he should have good trade value this off season. Will he next year ? Signing 25 year old Yamamoto would be bold and $$$$$...I doubt Harris has the nerve for that but if he plays it too "safe" we might only muddle along. Our biggest assets going forward remains Tarik Skubal , injury prone Riley Greene, Fretters magic and CASH. We need to keep the first three and spend the other wisely over the next three off seasons. That and making the right decisions on who to trade and for whom is our ticket.
  6. What do you think about Trei Cruz ? Worth protecting or not ?
  7. And when McKinstry did get on base it seemed he was often running into outs....The Dodgers aren't stupid.
  8. Always trade on the high note with relievers I think.
  9. too bad Brooks won't be around this year when the Orioles win it all.
  10. Agree. Time for the heralded "calculated risk".
  11. I think Soto is a free agent soon so no to him and all the high priced Padres for me. That team is under achieving big time. Not leaders in my book. Pass.
  12. Hopefully they are collectively just tired having played so much at the MLB level, especially Carp-Tork-Verling, but it is concerning all the same especially Carpenters power drought. We still have a long ways to go and Greene's frailty has to be assumed when planning this off season.
  13. Just tuning in. So McKinstry on twice..once caught stealing and once picked off so a McStinky special. I hope Hinch's love affair with him ends next year.Third on the team in AB's despite a .643 OPS !!
  14. And it was not his fault I booed him every chance because he too Willie's spot. That was terrible.
  15. Does the longer the quote mean the less they can field ?
  16. Lange can’t control his fastball. Isn’t that enough to know he can’t close ?
  17. Is SGL for real ? Did fortune shine on us Tiger fans ??
  18. Great game. That catch by Meadows in the first was unreal. That kid is a great center fielder. Baez came up big and he owed it to me supporting him for two poor years. Skubal was nasty but who were those guys. What a mess the Angels are. Trout will likely ask to be traded. 2 hits for Miggy and a nice crowd send off.
  19. Well I’m at first base in foul ground and don’t think my arms are long enough 😀
  20. I will be in attendance tonight as I have been every year since 1997. I can’t even remember the last time we won so sorry about jinxing our chances. Last year I saw Miggy in LA and he homered so all hope is not lost. A repeat would be cool as they say here. Still sounds funny to me.
  21. Even if you already said yes and then at the last minute said no unless you give me 20 million more ? It's his right but there is a moral "code" of keeping your word. I do not know if that happened but Harris and Friedman both thought it was approved and LA really got screwed as they now count Lance -home run Lynn as their third playoff starter.
  22. I was not happy that we were once again trading off players for "lottos" as we nose dived into the standings once again. I also felt Al waited too long until the asset was almost worthless. Today was encouraging for "SGL" and its an organizational win IF he continues. He looked good but it's alas one game against a team with no heart in September. Hope he keeps it up.
  23. Chalk that run up to Carpenter. The DH playing RF.
  24. Playing into that is the lack of players to trade given our thin pitching and desire to keep the good young talent. The rest won't bring much plus it's a weak free agent hitter class. They also need to see if Meadows,Mallory and Keith actually can play and where they fit at the MLB level. They could however make a big impact on the pitching staff by signing a frontline pitcher and some are available. Yamamoto being #1. I think they need two. Like a Yamamoto and a Maeda. One stud one ok starter. Assuming Erod is gone.
  25. I don’t understand the McStinky love.
