  1. Does the longer the quote mean the less they can field ?
  2. Lange can’t control his fastball. Isn’t that enough to know he can’t close ?
  3. Is SGL for real ? Did fortune shine on us Tiger fans ??
  4. Great game. That catch by Meadows in the first was unreal. That kid is a great center fielder. Baez came up big and he owed it to me supporting him for two poor years. Skubal was nasty but who were those guys. What a mess the Angels are. Trout will likely ask to be traded. 2 hits for Miggy and a nice crowd send off.
  5. Well I’m at first base in foul ground and don’t think my arms are long enough 😀
  6. I will be in attendance tonight as I have been every year since 1997. I can’t even remember the last time we won so sorry about jinxing our chances. Last year I saw Miggy in LA and he homered so all hope is not lost. A repeat would be cool as they say here. Still sounds funny to me.
  7. Even if you already said yes and then at the last minute said no unless you give me 20 million more ? It's his right but there is a moral "code" of keeping your word. I do not know if that happened but Harris and Friedman both thought it was approved and LA really got screwed as they now count Lance -home run Lynn as their third playoff starter.
  8. I was not happy that we were once again trading off players for "lottos" as we nose dived into the standings once again. I also felt Al waited too long until the asset was almost worthless. Today was encouraging for "SGL" and its an organizational win IF he continues. He looked good but it's alas one game against a team with no heart in September. Hope he keeps it up.
  9. Chalk that run up to Carpenter. The DH playing RF.
  10. Playing into that is the lack of players to trade given our thin pitching and desire to keep the good young talent. The rest won't bring much plus it's a weak free agent hitter class. They also need to see if Meadows,Mallory and Keith actually can play and where they fit at the MLB level. They could however make a big impact on the pitching staff by signing a frontline pitcher and some are available. Yamamoto being #1. I think they need two. Like a Yamamoto and a Maeda. One stud one ok starter. Assuming Erod is gone.
  11. I don’t understand the McStinky love.
  12. I wonder if they never played him at third base that we might have a totally different player ? Does playing out of position affect your hitting ? I really don't know but I suspect it might. I don't subscribe to this versatility emphasis of Hinch apart from having one utility guy. He played Parades at 3b and 2b and the Rays only at 3B ( some 1B). Did that help him relax and hit. I don't know but something unlocked him there. I think we are ruining Verling now and did damage to Maton. But I am just a fan so what do I know. It just seems when you know your job and can do it it's easier to perform. I don't call an electrician to fix a leaky pipe.
  13. Jung's hitting has been impressive but he sure looks like a catcher to me. Not saying move him to catcher just his build. I assume his arm is not good enough for third ?
  14. Yes I know but the point being managers follows their bosses wish.
  15. Just put Cisneros in and leave him there until the game is over. He can bury his arm on the mound after the game and ride into the sunset. Goodbye.
  16. Nobody on the telecast know which foot was broken before ? No mention?
  17. My impression is they are on the same page but Harris is clearly setting the agenda. In fact I interpreted Hinch playing Maton so long because Harris told him too not the other way around. Same thing with Avila when Hinch played Lugo so much. GM's want the players they traded for on the field sometimes to a fault. maybe often to a fault.
  18. And by keeping him in AAA we extend his free agency to 2025 making him much more attractive in trade.
  19. That's going to hurt his wallet this off season and speaks to his inconsistency.
  20. I don't think Harris had any one player in mind when he non tendered Candy but rather was willing to have the position open to "audition" multiple players from the minor leagues, wire pick ups and possible trades which is what happened but none of them stuck unfortunately.
  21. Do you want to sign him this off season ? I think Harris had already considered that and said no which factored into his decision. The fail isn't cutting Candy it's not finding a replacement unless he was banking on Colt Keith or Mallory all along.
