  1. the talk before this losing streak was them looking to re-sign perron, which is crazy, imo. i know he's a good locker room guy but his play has really deteriorated this year. i was hoping they would have trade a defenseman for the reasons already articulated by everyone else. "old, but slow" is not a good motto for your defense corps. i honestly think they expected someone (anyone!) to get hurt. and there have been almost no injuries to the defense.
  2. 21 pts, 18 boards, 5 assists through 3 quarters. yeah, but 5 turnovers so he sucks.
  3. khalil mack wouldnt sign here. not after he heard john cominsky took a pay cut...
  4. looking at what the market was doing, i dont think the wings had anything they were willing to give up that other teams wanted. i doubt you coukd get more than a 3rd for ghost or perron. if that.
  5. they were the worst team in the history of modern hockey with a barren farm system. ken holland says it takes ten years to rebuild? imo, the rebuild started when holland was fired. everything he did before then to get assets was ok, but then you had ken holland picking the assets. i have plenty of issues with what yzerman did this last offseason, most specifically loading up on old defensemen, but other than that i dont. i would give it a couple more years, but im patient. lol. and i think the wings had the worst organization in the league when he took over.
  6. when they hired yzerman, i posted "how long will it take for tater to call for him to be fired?" i guess now we know. a six game losing streak in year 5.
  7. at the very least there should be a some sort of public acknowledgement of inappropriate behavior by a member of the leadership group and an apology should be issued. i would fine or suspend him but that's not how the league operates. you can get away with stuff like this that wouldnt happen in a normal business. i would use this as another in a long line of reasons to dismiss him, the main one being the product on the floor four years into a "rebuild."
  8. and still no comment from the organization or from weaver. what a joke.
  9. this is quite an epic collapse. at some point you do have to look at the coaching staff.
  10. alex lyon was carrying them. he has now turned back into alex lyon.
  11. atlanta now has a group of investors with a proposal for an expansion team. following on salt lake city's proposal last year. does the nhl ever learn with atlanta? maybe just move the jets back?
  12. if cominskey's agent thought he would get more on the market, he would have declined. he wasnt all that good last year. not as good as he was the year before.
  13. lets all take a moment to laugh at the carolina panthers. as they sit and watch the bears take a "generational tbd" qb with their #1 pick they gave up to take a tiny qb who was terrible in year one, lets not forget they turned down mutiple #1 picks to trade for brian burns and instead just dealt him for a second and a fifth. they make the pistons look well run.
  14. i dont like giving up multiple picks for davis, but at least its not a second.
  15. charlotte makes a lot of guys look good
  16. caps down 2-0 in the third.
  17. 58.2 pff grade last year. owed $14 million. ymmv on pff grades.
  18. also remember that the cap is going up so salaries go up too. its the cap percentage to watch.
  19. i really doubt the bears trade him in the division and that the vikings want him. more likely sign tannehill and draft a qb.
  20. to me its that the bears (with their offseason additions and the addition of sweat and the subtraction of fields) and packers have passed them and the lions were already ahead.
  21. i'm glad the bears didnt get saquon.
  22. let someone else pay jonah that kind of money.
  23. exactly. its not that sneed is bad, its that he's expensive and he's not franchise changing talented. sign someone who only costs you money, not money and draft capital.
