its a good short term hire. probably the best short term hire they could get given the circumstances.
he runs a similar style program that should fit the talent on the team. he doesnt have anything in his closet that we know of.
the drawbacks are that he's not from here and will have to establish recruiting relationships with midwest schools. he's never coached in the big 10. he doesnt seem to have adapted to the new reality of NIL and money. that is the only hurdle i see.
well, and that he's 66 and doesnt havr much time left.
i would have preferred deboer or dillingham, but this is still a really good hire from an x's and o's and culture fit.
besides, dude looks like he's been on the pete carroll workout plan and can probably coach until he's 80! lol.
