  1. i wonder if he's viewed as damaged goods?
  2. chychrun to ottawa. a 1st and two 2nds.
  3. i have often thought about that. another wrinkle is that a lot of people might have wilson as elite given his measurables. its funny, i see him compared to ziggy ansah a lot.
  4. do we want the isles to make the playoffs now? would you rather have pick 13 or 15 in this year's draft (which is supposed to be loaded) or a shot at vancouver's unprotected #1 next year in a draft that might not be as talented? regardless, i dont think isles are making the playoffs this year so it will be vancouver's pick next year.
  5. youre just citing trade ups. so your point was you dont think ANY of the qbs this year are worth it at all? you dont think any team will do it?
  6. i think this carter stuff hurts the bears' plans. he was the perfect fit for their defense and they probably could have traded down to 4 and gotten either him or anderson. if you think those two are the elite talents in the draft you probably want one of them. but with carter maybe out of the mix (i'm still skeptical he'll fall that far), if the bears want anderson they might not be able to go lower than 3. arizona will take him. anything to hurt the bears is cool with me. i hope they stay at 1 and take anderson.
  7. skoronski also provides cover in case decker or sewell get injured. that said, #6 is REALLY high for a guard. like with jaymo last year, i think they will have a board with a number of "elite" talents on it. if they have 10 or 12 names on that list and skoronski is there at 6 and is on that list, maybe they do take him?
  8. its the islanders pick that vancouver holds. that pick is top 12 protected. if the isles miss the playoffs this year, the wings get vancouver's #1 next year. unprotected, i believe.
  9. what does "pick can eventually move to 2024" mean? its protected?
  10. wait....what? vancouver? why would vancouver do that? hronek really turned a corner this year. van wanted a right handed defenseman. huh. hronek got exposed the last two games (like everyone else on this team). damn stevie. that's rude to take vancouver's lunch money like that.
  11. who was the last qb who was a "must trade up to get him" qb? trevor lawrence? andrew luck? guys who are "must trade up to get" dont get traded. whomever has the pick takes a qb. if caleb williams were in this draft the bears would be trading justin fields.
  12. they need physical guys like bertuzzi. but given his injury history and likely contract demands, they should probably deal him. signing larkin to that deal after he was nowhere to be found the last two days is bad timing to me. im interested in seeing what this team will do when ottawa comes to detroit, but i suspect it will be nothing. theyre just not that kind of team.
  13. horvat was 8.5. wings were in a bad spot. had to keep him so they overpaid a bit. now go trade bertuzzi.
  14. seems a bit high.
  15. carter is charged with a misdemeanor, he wont do jail time and will likely get community service. the way it works in georgia - or the way it worked when i had highway death cases in georgia - is the state police investigate it and release a pretty comprehensive report. the quality if that report is sometimes questionable, but it is pretty comprehensive we'll know more in the years to come when carter and the bar they were at get sued for wrongful death, dramshop, etc.
  16. lol. and play with how many balls? that team doesnt pass now. porter, green, AND harden? oh my goodness...
  17. i dont think so. i think you hear about it more often because of social media.
  18. ruggs was driving the car, right?
  19. its you. if anything, different types of drugs have become issues, but drinking has ALWAYS been an issue.
  20. if the lions draft a qb at #6 or #18 its not to "draft a backup," its to draft a future starter. he may be a backup (or third string) this year, but its with an eye to the future. on that note, if richardson plays for ohio state or texas tech (like mahomes did) is he putting up similar numbers in those qb friendly systems? i dont know enough to know.
  21. ever the optimist...
  22. whoever told you that is stupid. everyone and their brother says "march madness." no one will ever be sued for saying that
  23. wake up call. lots of things to work on. lots of things to build on. need to get bigger and stronger.
  24. i hope he comes back to finish his career as a back up on a lions super bowl winning team, getting into a key game after the starter gets hurt and leading the lions to a great victory on their way to the promised land. then he can retire and we can retire his jersey as the best qb the team ever had.
