  1. you're a man, right? do you care about babies? or do you cop out and say "well, that's a woman's choice"? and the polling on abortion is remarkably consistent between men and women. most americans - men and women - are in favor of keeping abortion legal in the first trimester. the vast vast vast majority of both men and women believe abortion should not be legal in the second or - god forbid - third trimester unless there is a health issue for the mother or baby. the idea that this is just men telling women what to do or think is a media trope. this isnt 1950. women agree with men on the issue.
  2. of course! because its not about principal with democrats or republicans, its about whose ox is being gored. im glad you see it too.
  3. what about the babies? ah who cares, kill em.
  4. i cant wait to suddenly see the democrats fall in love with the filibuster again! suddenly the filibuster will become as central to "preserving democracy" as the ability to pass out water in a voting line.
  5. unionize and come to a collective bargaining agreement that caps and regulates nils. but the big players have no real incentive to do that yet. maybe the bit players who get no real nil money will at some point, or the mid level schools with no ability to match the big behemoths. but not yet.
  6. that's the most popular alternative and the one that is the law in most countries: a ban after 20 weeks or so. unfortunately both parties seemed to be ruled by their extremes: the republicans who want an outright ban, and the democrats who think any restriction on abortion is the coming of the handmaid's tale. throw roe's strained reasoning into the mix and you get our current situation. remove roe and you'll see a hodgepodge of state restrictions from outright bans to allowance of partial birth abortions. if you wanted to motivate democratic voters, you just got it.
  7. im consistently more accurate about the court than most here. 😏 but i pay attention to it more than most. but nobody's perfect, lol.
  8. 1) lets wait and see what is actually written and agreed on by 5 justices; 2) if so, it will be the biggest help the democrats have had for the mid terms in a long time. i know there are all sorts of polls out there that say abortion is low on people's list of important issues, but that's because people dont think about roe being overturned. if it is, that will sharpen people's minds and motivate liberals in an election cycle in which they were appearing extremely unmotivated; 3) its a good time to stay off twitter.
  9. whither roe?
  10. turns on tv, checks score in leafs game, changes channel to basketball.
  11. embiid makes the sensible choice.
  12. my daughter got tested and she had influenza A.
  13. no toronto, no boston, no colorado, no st louis, no pittsburgh. the rangers would suck because its new york and youd never hear the end of it from espn. i have a friend who is a kings fan and he can be annoyingly smug when his teams win so no kings. the wild seemed to be real dicka this year when we played them and that one guy slammed lucas' head on the ice so no minnesota. the hurricanes organization just seem like dicks on twitter so no canes. do i really nees to see kenny holland lift the cup after destroying the wings? no oilers. dallas and nashville are non entities to me now. so calgary, tampa, washington, florida. i still kinda root for tampa because its still stevie's team. plus theyre playing the leafs.
  14. lol. mark jackson is the front runner for the kings job. never change, sacramento.
  15. steelers decline devin bush's fifth year option. knee injuries are a bitch. raiders decline the option on all three of their former first rounders. nice picks mayock.
  16. stafford was 33 when he was traded. Lamar jackson is 26 and kyler murray is 25. deshaun watson is also 26. ergo they are worth more than stafford. were free to say "no thanks" but someone else will. that's what it will cost you to get a good, young, nfl qb on the trade market. most of the teams that will be picking top 5 will likely need a qb, so they may not want to trade down.
  17. you wont get either of those guys for goff and a first. it will take a deshaun watson type offer. maybe not that much, but you can start the bidding at three number ones.
  18. the bears should finish last in the division unless fields really tears it up. kyler murray could be another trade candidate.
  19. given how bad the nfc looks, i'd be surprised if the lions end up picking 4th. you never know, injuries and luck play a huge role. look at the bears and falcons. theyre going to be terrible.
  20. if dingler pans out, he seems destined for jake rogers territory. low ba with some pop. that's not a terrible outcome for a second round pick. its still very early in the year. hopefully he picks it up and starts raking at erie.
  21. i've read glenn's name mentioned for years now. parcells guy. the league knows him. he got interview buzz last time. if he keeps his nose clean and there is nothing in his past (like with bienemy) then he should be on the fast track in the next couple years.
  22. santana is really struggling right now, but he's so young that its all projectability with him.
  23. the guy with the .200 ba and 704 ops at his second straight year in double a? he'll need to turn it around quick to get to where tork and greene were.
  24. glenn will get one next time. he's been mentioned for a while now.
  25. who do you think will get a hc job first?
