  1. i dont disagree with you, i was just making the observation about the quote that was in the tweet.
  2. the jags have their qb and they have a decent coach. they play in a weak division. the jags are on the upswing, imo. just like the lions.
  3. also, kurt warner shouldnt be in the hall of fame, lol.
  4. warner "got a pass" for his short career because he was great during his short career. stafford was not. warner also had great team success and stafford has not until last year. stafford is bert jones with a ring. he's terry bradshaw if he only one one super bowl and not four in a great dynasty. narrative is as much about the hall of fame as stats are. stafford doesnt have enough of either to be in the hall. but we'll see. his career isnt over yet.
  5. lots of players will end up with 60k yards by the time matt stafford is up for the hall of fame. he's never been considered a top 5 qb in the league. ever. pro bowls are a stat to judge you by how the rest of the league sees you. by all the fancy metrics he's been a borderline top 10 qb for much (but definitely not all) of his career. he's never been in the top 10 of mvp voting. he is not considered a top 10 qb. he's following up his kost successful team season with being injured and barely playing (and playing poorly when he did play). he is not going to be in the hall of fame without A TON more success in his career, both team and individual. i just dont see it.
  6. "philosophical concerns about commercialization"? its a business. its always been a business.
  7. ryan is an mvp and 4x pro bowl qb. stafford was a pro bowl alternate once. i just dont think stafford has enough to get in. he has fancy yards, but was never considered a top 5 qb nationally, imo. even with the super bowl i dont think he ever gets in or deserves to get in.
  8. sac played the bulls and at the end of the game i thought they were chanting "zach lavine" and couldnt figure out why until stacey king yold me about light the beam.
  9. i wonder if they'll have riots in spain like they did in belgium?
  10. the line on a michigan-ohio state rematch in the final is ohio state -3.
  11. niners might pick him up.
  12. michigan has tight ends coming out their.....ends.
  13. everyone from stanford...
  14. 1) the nfc sucks. 2) the lions can lose to anybody, including bad teams like the panthers and bears. 3) the lions have one game left om their schedule that they shouldnt be favored in: minny at home. and that game is at home which means they have a real fighting chance to win. 4) i think almost everyone on this site had the lions in the 5-8 win range. if they finish this year with a winning record it's a testament to #1 above, but also to the coaching staff. 5) let's not get ahead of ourselves, these are still the lions.
  15. what nfc teams are better than the lions right now? philly, dallas, seattle, san francisco... we'll find out about minnesota next week. FIRE DAN CAMPBELL!
  16. "coach prime" goes to colorado, meets with the team, and immediately tells them all he supports them and looks forward to making them better and helping them graduate and improve as men. ha, just kidding. he told them all to hit the transfer portal. good job walking into that shit show, colorado.
  17. i would probably rank mcgriff last out of all those players. maybe ahead of murphy and mattingly jist because their careers were so short.
  18. wash schedule: bye, giants, at san fran, cleveland, dallas. san fran just got a lot easier with jimmy g out for the season. cleveland should be better with watson having a couple games under his belt. last game of the year is always a tough call seeing as dallas might not be playing for anything as they'll probably have clinched. lions might have to run the table. 9-8 might not do it.
  19. giants schedule: philly, at washington, at minnesota, indy, at philly. i see one game in there where they are favored.
  20. copp with a nifty goal.
  21. i remember being in a bar in chicago in 2004 when zidane scored twice in the dying moments for france to beat england 2-1. the bar owner had to step and keep the one french fan (other than me) from getting pummelled after the game. owner was irish so he didnt mind england losing. and it was all the sweeter because gerrard was the one who fucked up and lost the game. liverpool loser.
  22. half of france's team is injured so i'm not sure why theyre thw favorite. other than the fact that france's reserves are as talented as 3/4 of the teams in the tournament. in fact, missing pogba and kante and kimpembe probably make them better. missing benzema really hurts but france actually seem to work better as a team with giroud in the lineup. giroud clears out space and helps mbappe by being a set up guy. benzema and mbappe tend to run into each other's way. but if you need a last minute inspiration to win you a game, you cant do better than benzema.
