i think the lions have a better qb situation than seattle and carolina. i would not say the lions qb situation is better than pittsburgh or atlanta, i think its similar. in fact, i would take mitch on his contract over goff right now. i dont know about mariota. i guess i'd probably take goff. houston and davis mills is too early to say.

if pickett or willis fell to 32 would you take him? i probably would.
-
or...perhaps...for the lions to take a qb there... matt corral has a whole bunch of baker mayfield comps and john dorsey (the guy who drafted mayfield) is in the lions front office. so ya never know!

its 40 degrees and raining here in chicago, so have fun with that tomorrow detroit! -
the democrats' are now in charge and have to deal with the influx of immigrants on the southern border. it apears they are attempting to do so in a manner quite similar to their republican counterparts, with the notable exception of not crying about a useless and expensive wall. that is an important distinction, but it doesnt stop the overall issue of what you do with all the people at the border and our need for more resources to deal with it.

an injunction was entered by a court in california. the supreme court effectively overruled that injunction. it takes time to rewrite an epa regulation. biden reps have said they expect it to be done by next year.
-
the clean water act was not overturned. its an epa regulation from the trump era. biden will issue a new regulation soon that effectively ends the trump regulation and we'll be back to the way it was pre-trump.

on a back to back no less. -
that's what i think too. dont overthink it.

the supreme court backed tyranny and hate? in what case? the one where they said trans people could sue for sexual discrimination? the one where they denied trump's attempts to overturn election results?

caleb houstan ranked 21st? really? no.

ras is getting more confident. still cant skate and his hands are iffy at times, but he's getting to the front of the net and he's being more physical. can he function as a puck getting big?

i aasume the peojections have greene doing about the same as most young rookies do, badly. same with tork but maybe to a lesser degree. they dont like mize because he doesnt miss bats. manning has no real track record. they probably like skubal more. to me, .500 would be a success. all i want is to watch the kids play and hope they do well.

keith law has us 74-88 and last place in the division.
-
and orlando beat cleveland.
-
bruins with their usual chippy play. good win for the wings.
-
for once he shot it to the top corner.
-
bork was seen as ideologically extreme and may have been. even funnier was his subsequent nominee was donald ginsburgh who had to withdraw because he smoked pot. a bunch of democrats werent going to vote for that hippy! as to "decorum", what happened to thomas and kavanaugh were seen by the gop as character assasinations that went over the line. but ymmv on that.
-
all the "moderate" gop-ers are going down. liz cheney (far from moderate but she was vocally pro impeachment) will be next.

i remember when they played the kings who are another young team but who are further ahead of the wings in the rebuild and still have some really good older players like doughty, etc. they played the wings off the ice and made them look like amateurs. they were faster and controlled the game completely. if the wings are miles behind the kings, they are more than just a handful of players away from competing. they are two or three offseasons away. the hope is that the swedish cavalry is coming. they are performing so well over there that it gives you hope. sprinkle in a carter mazur developing with a guy like elmer and wallinder and edvinsson and you have a really solid base. now give me shane wright.
-
fabbri too. he's a solid third line player who can play on the top two lines in a pinch for a while. hronek isnt a top 4 d man, but he can play in the league. lindstrom has been disappointing. walman hasnt been too bad, he's got speed and a good shot. he's worth keeping next year. but they need mcisaac to hit next year along with edvinsson. i think its still too early to count on them moving forward.

i'm a bit down on ned. he's had some good games and some very very bad games. we all know he doesnt have good defensemen in front of him, but that'a not an excuse for letting in some of the goals he's allowed. he's been very hot and cold. greiss may need to retire. regardless, ned is the starter next year. i wonder if they would bring back bernier on a one year deal if he's available?
-
i think the gop is more guilty of that than democrats, but the democrats are not without fault. i do think that mcconnell's refusal to give garland a hearing was a step over the edge. he should have given him a hearing and voted him down on a party line vote like what happens to every nominee now.
-
i think it would probably be less because he'll be at the end of his deal and he'll want an extension. unless you envision packaging contracts for a player on a large deal? but i dont see the pistons doing that or having the additional contracts - or being able to give up the picks - to do so.

so youre fine with 5 new conservative judges in 2024 if a republican wins the presidency? i'm not. i'm happy with nine but maybe 11? 7? since its become so politicized, perhaps the best scenario is to term limits for sc judges? the problem with that - of course - is that the side in power will not want to limit its next pick and it will take the side in power to enact the rule. maybe writing the law so it goes into place in 8 years would help?
