i dont want them anywhere near lavine. exactly the wrong type of player for this team. he'll dominate the ball and pretend he's michael jordan. and his contract is ridiculous and long. i dont want jerami grant because of how he played the last time he was here. towards the end he did whay he was told to do: stand in the corner and stretch the floor, but before that he tried to pretend this was "his team" and play hero ball all the time. if he comes back i'd fear he would try that routine again since he's making $30m a year. and that contract is also long. no thanks. wiggins is someone i would think about. less money for less years, can play d, and has no problem deferring to cade for offense. do you try for patrick williams? be wary. i watched him with the bulls be extremely passive for the past 3 years. seemed intimidated by lavine, et al. then again, he came out of his shell a bit after lavine was "injured" (aka butt hurt that everyone hated him and coby white stole his role). speaking of coby white, that is the type of guy the pistons should be looking for this year. someone ready to break out. get em for cheap now. is pwill that type of guy? not so sure he has the cojones, but it might be an ok bet to make if the money isnt too high. -

i hope he does too. i actually think duren has an outside chance of developing a jumper. like you said, he's not a bad free throw shooter. he's young. the pistons just hired a "shot doctor." i dont think its outside the realm of possibility he gets AT LEAST a passable midrange. i think there's a better chance duren turns into a passable shooter than ausar. ausar is broke. he's tony allen. -
vecine's draft rankings are out. tier i: 0 prospects tier 2: 0 prospects tier 3: sarr, sheppard, castle, clingan, risacher tier 4: williams, carter, carrington, knecht, holland, salaune, buzelis, topic, mccain, dillingham. a depressing read.

she does the news in france. yet another reason the French are better than us.

well, you are a wings and pistons fan...

he has 4 years to show something. like yzerman (and now langdon), he inherited a wasteland: the worst team with one of the worst farm systems left to him by his predecessor. check in in another year and a half and see where mcgonigle and clark are. see what he got for flaherty. see if Lee is in the majors or knocking on the door.

counterpoint: yoan moncada and eloy jimenez. lol.

i dont understand how you guys watch this every day. this is brutal.

hey look, a silver lining to today's loss!

this game may suck, this team certainly sucks, but any time you get to see melissa theuriau, its been a good day. elle est magnifique.

if momentum existed in sports the panthers would have won in 4. after all, they won the first three.

he's 230 at bats into his major league career, give him some time.

it was such a good trade they've won the least amount of games in the league since it was made. in the context of where the franchise was at the time and what it should be doing to move forward on a realistic timeline, sacrificing a first round pick for a role player at the beginning of a rebuild was not a smart trade. hopefully langdon can maximize the value of a guy like stewart rather than waiting to trade him for two second round picks two years from now. -
you have the best home uniforms in the game, why ruin them with this garbage?

this is what they should have been doing all along. not dealing future firsts for isaiah stewart or saddiq bey for james wiseman. -

i dont want grant, bi, or paul george on the team. i know beggars cant be choosers, but i dont know if any of those guys is great for cade. if i have to pick one of then its george because he's a great #2 and i think you can get him for less years. grant's contract is too long for me. unless he comes with draft capital attached i'll pass. i'd rather get tobias harris on a friendly cheap deal. i'd rather take on assets to get dejounte murray. i'd rather take assets and andrew wiggins. this is the biggest flaw in dumb ass weaver's plan. there are no good free agenta anymore and nobody is going to deal you quality for your cap space. -
i'm fine with husso and lyon this year. the other scenario is to ltir or buyout husso. i'd rather see if he can play first. but i'm not seeing the wings aa playoff contenders this year.

he gets you the most haul now, he's a pitcher with an injury history who could get hurt at any time and lose that value, and he's going to be even more valuable on his cheap contract. he might be the most valuable chip on the market if you move him now. otoh, he could be johan santana...

he's a poor man's andrew vaughn, not anywhere near konerko. when konerko was his age he was raking. if you squint hard enough you could see tony clark, but clark took time because of his height (i think). i dont think that's tork's issue. but i hope youre right and he gets things fixed. i just doubt it.

maybe the organization is doing what all organization's do after changes are made and the initial results are below expectations? you blame the prior management team! which in this case, would be true. the tigers' rebuild started in 2023. its only been on year. its going to take some time to dig our from under this mess. dealing for Lee last year was a start, getting a good prospect for flaherty will be the idea this year, and then getting a haul for skubal next year (or this year) will be the foundational pieces that make us the 2016 cubs. but it will take a bit to get out from under the albatross of a decade of al avila.

maybe he's working with former beat writer danny knobler in his bar in thailand?
-
he won 22 games and then got mobley and markkanen. im not saying he did a bad job, but he didnt do what atkinson did. he had talent, atkinson had next to nothing.

like you said, any coach would be a risk. atkinson took over the nets when they were the worst team in the league with no draft choices (they traded them all to boston who turned them into tatum and brown) and he got them to .500 in three years. that's why everyone loves him. bickerstaff took over a cleveland team that then aquired a top 3 pick and a star offensive player. much different situation. quinn is a crap shoot, agreed. but he is well liked around the league.
