Fifth Third said it would acquire Comerica for $10.9 billion, marking the latest effort by midsize lenders to bulk up and compete with the nation’s biggest banks. Grayson Stadium is a piece of history. We saw the Savannah Cardinals there years ago while at Hilton Head one week. We drove up one evening to catch a game there. Our son lived in Savannah while attending SCAD years later and we saw some games in Savannah then as well. All this while Savannah was a South Atlantic League member.

Currently, I don’t know that Toronto is going to leave a choice at this point.

As a Tiger fan there’s nothing to be optimistic about after reading this.The Mariners faced Skubal twice this year and beat him both times. In neither start did Skubal make it to the sixth inning. Seattle with home field advantage doesn’t help the cause either. But then…anything can happen. That the Tigers are where they are now, I’m happy with that.

I do wonder what his take on this is.

Being realistic, I can’t see Skubal in a Tigers uniform beyond next year. He may even go at the deadline in 2026. Having said that, I can’t imagine this team without him. To this team and organization he is more than just one player. This year and last, he is the Detroit Tigers. He’s irreplaceable. As the saying goes, “It is what it is.” It’s a business. I totally understand the concerns regarding a long term $$$ commitment to a starting pitcher these days. But it’s hard to imagine this team without Skubal at the top of the rotation.

I hope Posey’s smarter than that. I’d like to see Yadier Molina get a shot at this job. He and Posey, both HOF catchers, have a no BS approach to the game.

Of the 15 pitches Vest threw, 12 were for strikes. He was his best self today.

Wow! That didn’t take long. I guess Soto’s planned “dynasty” in a Mets uniform is in trouble. The Yankees are absolutely loving this.

Steven Vogt is a very good manager. Hats off to what Cleveland accomplished this season. They never quit.
