  1. Keller with five K’s through two innings.
  2. Harvey’s consistency is amazing.
  3. To be honest, the entire Tiger fan base has been grimacing after his swings.
  4. Wall Street’s expectation that the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates several times this year has helped power stocks to records. Now, some investors think the central bank might not cut rates at all. After the latest blockbuster jobs reportFriday showed continuing strength in the economy, more traders are betting the Fed may cut the benchmark federal-funds rate just once or twice this year, fewer than officials’ last median forecast of three quarter-point cuts. And a handful are even starting to wager that the central bank will leave rates where they are. -WSJ Personally, I can’t see any justification for a rate cut any time soon. One of the Fed’s talking heads suggested a possibility of three cuts this year. Doesn’t make sense.
  5. Great interview. I’d consider JV to be an utmost authority in this discussion.
  6. Tork is the exception. He didn’t hit in ST either. To date, I’m seeing what I expected to see from him.
  7. We’re getting in from a walk and I see this…UGLY!
  8. Monroe is worse, but I’m not a Bobby Scales fan either. Honestly, I’d be fine without a color guy in light of the current situation.
  9. Absolutely cannot lose the home opening series to the A’s. This would be the perfect day for Bert to get his six runs.
  10. Washington Nationals pitcher Stephen Strasburg has officially retired, according to an update from MLB’s transaction log. Strasburg reached a settlement with the team after months of negotiation, an MLB source confirmed to The Athletic on Saturday. There will be no reduction in the value of Strasburg’s total contract.
  11. Somebody please tell me this isn’t true: https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-to-force-jewish-made-products-from-israel-to-be-labeled-report
  12. Yes, the Howard’s Terminal thing morphed into a political fiasco. Someone could write a book on the Howard’s Terminal saga alone. But hey, the renderings were cool to look at 😁 To me, the most difficult part of following the A’s saga was that you never knew who was serious about things accomplished and who wasn’t. Between the owner and the city, there was a ton of political posturing for the media and critics. Too much gamesmanship.Even to this day the mayor of Oakland claims the door is still open for serious negotiations. Clearly, that ship has sailed. We’ve never attended a game in Sacramento but in 2016 we attended a game in San Jose. There is no way an MLB team will play there unless there have been major changes there. It is currently the Low A affiliate of the Giants.

  14. I believe I saw the other day where the voters voted down public money to be used for a new Kansas City ballpark. Putting these decisions to a public referendum would likely slow the ambitions of these self-serving owners. The Oakland thing was a fiasco from the beginning. I really don’t know that there was an honest workable solution there. My son and his family lived in the Bay Area for several years and 🙏 moved back East just before the Covid implosion. They went to a lot of games and the kids were all on board as A’s fans! At the time our five year old grandson could name the starting players by position. The guys had A’s gear and posters, etc. We attended a game with the whole gang there in 2019. The park was in sad shape and the area wasn’t appealing at all. Primarily because of the kids, I hate seeing the end of the Oakland A’s.
  15. The Great Al Kaline passed away on this date four years ago. Doesn’t seem like four years gone.
  16. That the powers that be have allowed it to come to this is a shame. The players have to be wondering what they ever did to be stuck in such a lost situation. Owner doesn’t give a crap-commissioner doesn’t give a crap-city doesn’t give a crap. Pretty much bottom of the barrel deal.
