I understand their logic as well but according to the attached team announcement above, anyone with tickets for the game that can’t make another game happen this week loses their money, period. Not sure I agree with this. Or am I missing something here?

Just four years ago, Kumar Rocker was the best pitcher in college baseball. A lot has changed since then, including a pit stop in indy ball, but Rocker, the Rangers' No. 2 prospect and No. 97 overall per MLB Pipeline, will finally make his MLB debut for Texas on Thursday against the Mariners in Seattle at T-Mobile Park.

I’d like to see him back in Detroit as well but I believe the price will be more than the FO will be willing to pay at this point. With the success the team has had in developing pitchers this year within the organization, I think it would be difficult to justify paying Flaherty the market rate when he hits free agency.

Flaherty’s chance for any Cy Young votes looks like a reach at this point. To his credit, he’s had a nice bounce back season either way. Tork was low hanging fruit, easy prediction to get right. I don’t expect much more from him than what you’re seeing now, if that.

I’m really OK if Torkelson isn’t on the 2025 Detroit Tigers roster.

Additionally, Chapman has made it clear that he likes playing for Bob Melvin. I’m pretty sure Melvin pushed Farhan Zaidi to sign Chapman in the offseason.

This entry will be as random as random gets most likely but… My wife and I are going to traverse to Kinston, NC tonight to say goodbye to an old baseball park. This weekend will mark the end of Grainger Stadium’s association with affiliated baseball. The park can’t be brought up to MLB’s standards so the Down East Wood Ducks (High A affiliate of the Texas Rangers) will relocate to a brand new ballpark next year in Spartanburg, S.C. Grainger Stadium is in a flood zone to begin with so the writing has been on the wall a while now. As a big MiLB fan I hate to see the team leave. This will leave N.C. with nine affiliated teams in 2025. We’ve known the GM there for years and have to get down there one more time. I’m sure a summer league team will land there soon.
