That is probably best. Being rushed to the Majors (due to Rule 5) may be the reason for his shortcomings. If not for Rule 5, he probably would have spent last year in AA and this year in AAA.

Shop all of the relievers, even the young ones. I am not saying trade them all, but do not hesitate to trade any reliever who brings a good return.

Drafting is a different skill set from other GM duties. Drafting requires good scouting and doing the work to determine the order in which players should be drafted. Trading requires more negotiation and deal making which someone might not be good at even if they know who to target. This is an oversimplification, but I can definitely see where someone could be competent in one and incompetent in the other.

I have been a Hill supporter for a while. if he turns out to be good, I can't take credit for it though. I know nothing about him. I just liked his stats and the fact that nobody was talking about him. Hill > Wentz.

A pitcher who can give you 180 average innings a year is good and not that easy to find. Of course, pitching doesn't matter too much when you are getting shut out by the Royals.

Yes, parents have been more supportive of children with each generation. This can go too far, but I think there is more good than bad in giving support.

Helicopter parenting is too much support. Neglectful parenting is too much freedom which I think is more dangerous. The idea is to find the right balance.

They were treated like animals for the majority of the nation's history. It is still hard to imagine that they couldn't play major league baseball until 1947. In my lifetime, there have been segregated restaurants, segregated coutry clubs, etc. Despite laws existing to protect and give opportunities to Blacks they know there are still many people out there who view them as inferior and would favor segregation.
