I got on an elevator to get up to my organ level drink rail seat. It went down first, and Chris Osgood hopped on. Another two employees were chatting about the patch and asked him what he thought. He played it political and said “I try to stay out of that stuff I can barely keep track of myself.” Then getting off he jokingly asked the usher directions to the press box, said it was his first time here at LCA.

I thought the mini-movie was good. They only showed the highs though. Completely skipped the Cowboys game and ended in the locker room of the Bucs game. Which.... fine, okay.... but not including them in a season mini-movie doesn't mean they didn't happen. I think the Cowboys game was a defining game for the regime. It said that we are still the Detroit Lions and the NFL is still going to **** us when they get the chance. We have to be that much better, that much stronger, and that much more resilient than any other team if we are going to reach the kinds of levels we aspire to reach. And I think the 49ers game will be a defining game for the 2024-2025 season. The bar has been set and it's been set incredibly high. What are you going to do to reach it? What are you going to do to surpass it? What are you going to do to win it all?

I loved the original. The remake came out when I was a kid and was downright frightening for me. I thought the 1970s version was whimsical, mysterious, and a little off-putting, but in a charming "adults know best" way, while the 2005 version aimed for that and landed on plain creepy and uncomfortable. I didn't like Depp at all (in this specific film) and the Oompa Loopas were the stuff nightmares were made out of. Nope nope nope. I think I was more than a little unconsciously concerned that 2023 would continue down the path of 2005 and lead me into a decade of therapy, which is why I passed on it. But if I can bill that therapy to you, maybe I'll give it a shot later this week. 😉

Lions are releasing a 2024 Season Mini-Movie on YouTube tonight at 8pm. Given the quality of their media team I expect it to be very good.

I can't remember where I read it (it might have even been here), but I thought I read that even if Josh Reynolds was re-signed, it would be in a slightly reduced role as a WR3 because they feel like Jamo will be the starting WR2 entering next season.

I watched the Oscar Nominated Shorts for the Animated category. Feels like the Yoko Ono/John Lennon short (War is Over) is destined to win on name recognition alone. I thought it was good not great. I really liked Ninety Five Senses and my girlfriend loved Pachyderm (the symbolism of which went two miles over my head until she told me afterwards what was actually happening). Movies out right now are all rather uninspiring though. I've got a week off from work and went to look at what was playing. Nothing even remotely interested me. Glad to look at this thread and see a Deadpool 3 is coming, that's one I will go out of my way to watch. Both the trailers GoBlue posted look good too, why can't those be out now? 😆

Stumbled into "Boy Swallows Universe" limited series on Netflix via recommendation while bed-ridden with a stomach bug this morning and finished all seven episodes today. Probably an all-time favorite for me.
