  1. If Bridgewater wanted to start isn't staying in Miami his best option given how fragile Tua is?
  2. Aren't these the same people that wear t-shirts and ride around with bumper stickers that say "F*ck Your Feelings"?
  3. Detroit Free Press: 9 dead, 7 wounded in Texas mall shooting We love our guns more than our people. We love objects more than human beings. I have a message for the **** your feelings crowd, **** your guns! Your right to own a gun doesn't come before anyone's right to live.
  4. If Kenny doesn't win a Cup this year in Edmonton and if he gets bounced in the second round by Vegas, is his job on the line? I don't wish Kenny ill will really at this point, just wondering where Edmonton goes from here with Holland.
  5. I like the Gibbs and Campbell picks. In fact, I wanted both players to be drafted by the Lions prior to last week's draft. I had both of them mocked to the Lions in several of the simulations I did. I think Gibbs gives us the ability to continue to have a dynamic, high scoring, top 5-7 offense in the league. And in a league where offense wins championships, that's a very good thing. The argument I have in my head is not will they end up being good players, I think they both very much will. Nor is it so much a positional value argument. In the case of Gibbs, if you can get close to Alvin Kamara production for more than one contract's worth of play, if he can make it to a second contract playing at a high level, I think it will have been more than worth it. Gibbs could be a special type of offensive weapon for this organization that elevates our production even further or at least prevents us from having any drop off in production from last season. The argument and comparisons I am making in my head are will Gibbs be equally or more valuable to this team, for what we need, than either Tyree Wilson or Jalen Carter? Will Campbell be equally or more valuable for this team than Joey Porter Jr. Calijah Kancey, or Nolan Smith? If the answer is yes, they will be equally or more valuable than I am all good with having both on my team. If Jalen Carter turns into Ndamukong Suh or Gerald McCoy out there and Gibbs doesn't come close to being a Kamara type of offensive playmaker, it's going to make a lot of Lions have buyers remorse and there will be lots of "I told you so's" from fans. I won't be one of those, because I didn't want Carter and never expected him to be on our draft board. We'll just have to trust Brad Holmes in the end and let all of their respective careers playout. Nothing that we can do except watch the games and hope our Lions and these players end up as good as we are hyping them up to be next season.
  6. RIP Gordon Lightfoot. I have never given his music collection a proper listen, nor dove all that deep into it. I've been wanting to do it at some point as I very much enjoy folk music.
  7. I'd love to get Smith if he is cut. I think he is better than some of the washed up names I have heard people suggest on 97.1 like Jadaveon Clowney, Carlos Dunlap, or Justin Houston.
  8. Because a touchdown went right through Swift's hands. Said Tate was stopped short and did not give a damn. And the flag that was picked up by the refs in the Dallas game . . . still remains. Within the same old Lions.
  9. Let me preface this by saying that beyond my instant reaction on draft night about them building a team like it's 1980, I like most all of what Holmes did. I wanted both Gibbs and Campbell. I just wanted them a round later. But it's clear that other teams, including the Lions, had them slotted to go a lot higher than the average internet mock draft or fan had them going. So all and all, I'd give Holmes a solid B for this draft. I'm not wow'ed by it but I understand what happened and why it happened. However, I think there is a debate to be had about positional value. Specifically, about a good player with a potential shelf life of 4-5 years in their prime and a good player with a potential shelf life of 7-8 years in their prime. I think what I'm most interested in looking at is where does Jahmyr Gibbs compare in 3-4 seasons with Tyree Wilson and Jalen Carter. It's pretty much useless to have that debate before the y play a down of football, but certainly something worth revisiting and looking at on down the line.
  10. I guess Gibbs counts as a "WR" given how we are going to use him in this offense. That said, I am surprised they waited this late to draft a true WR.
  11. One of the NFL Network analysts saying he thinks Hooker is the best deep ball thrower in the draft.
  12. Did they really need to trade three picks to go to and get him?
  13. I'm shocked Holmes took a guy with a RAS that low this early in the draft.
  14. Fudge, another one I wanted. Really surprised to see Moody go this high in the draft.
  15. Wished we would have taken Ika there.
  16. YIKES!!!!!! That's an awful RAS. That's like a RAS anyone of us could produce.
  17. Brodric Martin scouting report . . . https://www.nfl.com/prospects/brodric-martin/32004d41-5252-2663-52b8-5b30397ff3b5
  18. I have no clue who Broderick Martin is.
  19. LOL, and there we go. They picked a DT.
  20. I'm surprised they haven't taken a DT yet. I wonder if they feel Levi will be returning sooner rather than later.
  21. Trenton Simpson is a quintessential Ravens picks.
  22. Did the Lions get scared off by Tyree Wilson's foot injury but feel more comfortable dealing with Hooker's injury in the third or was Wilson just likely not high on their board?
  23. Agreed. I'm not sold on this pick. I felt Goff has played well enough to stay on long-term as our starting QB. I saw no need to replace him or waste a pick higher than a 4th rounder on a QB.
  24. I don't think so. I think LaPorta will start from day 1.
