They showed a shot of the Bears war room and it looked like one of their personnel people was drinking a beer. I'd drink too if I was in the Bears organization. Glad to see they had two picks and went for the lesser of the two TEs and an average WR in a poor WR draft class. Good to see they aren't protecting their QB by drafting a OL.

By Tony Wilfork I am guessing you either mean Vince Wilfork or Soprano's actor Tony Siragusa. If Williams is half the player Wilfork or Siragusa were then this pick is a huge success (no pun).

We had nearly identical lists. My 4th choice was a tossup between Spaceballs and Young Frankenstein (It's pronounced Frank-en-steen).

DT is a big need in the short term because of the injury to Alim. We may be without McNeill for half the season or more and that will significantly impact this defense, both in terms of pass rush and against the run. It's a need long term because DJ Reader is north of 30 and his play is clearly declining. It's a need anyway you look at it. I would have preferred an Edge like Mike Green or the DE from Boston College. But DT was most certainly a need.

This puts to rest Jamo getting traded.

Former NFLer and radio host Jon Jansen on 97.1 likes the pick. He thinks Williams is a guy who will command a lot of double teams.

Williams had 46 tackles, 8 tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks. He's a big guy at 6'3 and 329lbs. He's a space eater and a run stopper for sure. He'll likely require some interior double teams at times. It's a position of need for sure with McNeill out for a while.

Alright. It's not Green and it's Tyleik Williams DT from OSU. It's in the trenches and they needed a DT and got one. I'm not stoked about it, but I don't hate it either.

I want Mike Green too, but with his alleged sexual assault allegations he may not even be on their board whatsoever. I'd like a dynamic, quick, strong, productive Edge like Green.

I didn't say this earlier when it happened, but I'm so happy to see the Bears do Bears things. To take a TE when they have one already and they passed on the perceived better of the two TEs in Loveland over Warren, I love it. Ben Johnson can talk all the **** he wants but the Bears are still doing Beary predictably dumb things.

The Falcons gave up a first next year to trade up into the back half of the first round? That's seems like awful trade value for them and great for the Rams.

I suspect they will draft the best player available tonight, who fits their culture and has a first round grade on their board. If Holmes doesn't have 28 players with first round grades on his draft board then I think he is trading up for a player that is a BPA and his front office has given a first round grade. They are likely also not touching any player with character concerns, IE James Pearce Jr. or Mike Green. I like Mike Green quite a bit and feel he is the type of high motor, hard nose, physical, explosive, athletic pass rusher, who also plays against the run, that they might normally like. But I think Green's character concerns keep him off their board entirely. I think it is wide open as far as the position they end up picking because they will heavily lean BPA with a first round grade over any sort of perceived team need. That could mean they go G/C with a guy like Gray Zabel or Tyler Booker. It could mean a DT or DE like Kenneth Grant, Derrick Harmon, Shemar Stewart, or Donovan Ezeiruaku. It could mean taking yet another first round LB like Jihaad Campbell or a CB like Will Johnson. It could even mean a complete surprise pick like Colston Loveland or Tyler Warren at TE or Matthew Golden or Emeka Egbuka at WR. I would not be shocked if they picked a player at a position outside the norm that we all expect them to draft (OG/C, DLine). As far as who I want, I'd like them to draft in the trenches, either on offense or defense. I think there will be potentially a top talent available at either the offensive or defensive lines when they pick at #28. If they don't have a first round draft grade on the guy they probably aren't taking him. I would be ok with anyone Holmes drafts in the end because I trust him. However, I would prefer one of Derrick Harmon, Mike Green (I'm sure his character concerns will make him a no), Donovan Ezeiruaku, Mykel Williams, Gray Zabel or Tyler Booker.
