  1. on such a solemn day, it's good to have a little levity like this. thank you for the laughs.
  2. Ted Cruz is getting rolled by MAGA for saying insurrection bad And then NRO Karl Rove is next
  3. Dems in disarray as unemployment reaches record low levels.
  4. my uncles were personally humiliated when Obama won and his re-election was soul crushing for them. voting for Trump was a way to inflict on libtards the same pain they felt when that n***** was president. they took no joy from the corruption, incompetence and immorality, but they loved that the corruption, incompetence and immorality angered libtards. there is nothing to debate with them; no policy or reg or law; just a question of how much psychic damage can I see inflicted on my fellow Americans before I die? even if Trump loses in 2024, we are completely screwed as a country because for huge chunks of America, hating their fellow Americans is now a central part of their identity.
  5. The GOP is a real threat to the USA; a homage to treason
  6. only 2 things will stop Trump from being the GOP 2024 nominee: death or jail
  7. Lynn's top 50 https://www.detroitnews.com/story/sports/mlb/tigers/2021/12/22/detroit-news-2022-top-50-detroit-tigers-prospects/8987102002/?gnt-cfr=1
  8. looking like a good college bat draft https://www.detroitnews.com/story/sports/mlb/tigers/2021/12/23/ten-players-who-could-entice-detroit-tigers-no-12-2022-mlb-draft/9001839002/?gnt-cfr=1
  9. With Lindor as a market marker, Correa wants 10 years (or more); he wants $34.1M AAV (or more); and he wants $341M total value (or more). (TV is complicated because Lindor has $50M deferred) So far as we know, the only team to meet any of those thresholds is the Tigers (10 years). Hard to see how that hurts Correa when negotiating with other teams.
  10. info-tainment media was rooting for bad news they are now looking for the next crisis, real or imagined rinse, repeat
  11. Democrats in disarray as the BidenBoom leads to record stock market highs, a surging economy, and historically low unemployment.
  12. agree. now is not the time to waste a roster spot and $20M+ on a player you don't want, and Hosmer could stick around for 4 years if he does not opt out. could sign both Chafin and McHugh for 2/18 each for the same money.

  14. Baddoo presumably needs a RH partner for the short side of the platoon. Hill IMO has a slight lead over Reyes with Daz third. Hopefully one of the three steps up. 2 or those guys are going to Toledo, if HCastro and/or Haase is the 5th OF. If Garneau is on the team, that says more about Hinch's opinion of Haase than anything else. If/when Tork and Greene are up, bench is Haase, Harold, Parades, Hill.
  15. I bet they added this clause: Herein with it is decreed said forth that the party of the first part must be traded at the 2022 trade deadline any MLB team, but only if said team is a team that heretofore had already drafted the party to the first part out of college and the return shall either be unto the Astros 3 magic beans, or, without prejudice, if said other team doth prefers, an injured starting Venezuelan pitcher; a 5th outfielder who must by the son of a former major player; and a catcher with a busted wing. Farfegnugen ye all parties to this olde agreement. Amen.
  16. FG projections are both realistic and optimistic https://blogs.fangraphs.com/2022-zips-projections-detroit-tigers/
  17. https://mlb.nbcsports.com/2019/03/22/there-is-little-correlation-between-player-salaries-and-ticket-prices/ Remember all those times teams cut ticket prices because payroll went down?
  18. The Athletic has a round up remaining FAs; with Correa topping the list obviously. This would simply be too good to be true: The best fit for Correa may still be Detroit, even after the Tigers splurged $140 million on Javier Báez. Báez can play second base, as he did next to his friend, Francisco Lindor, during the second half in New York. The presence of Jonathan Schoop should not preclude Detroit owner Chris Ilitch from taking a page out of the recent playbook authorized by Rangers owner Ray Davis. Texas remade its middle infield by dropping $500 million on Seager and Marcus Semien. Like Davis, Ilitch can afford the expenditure.
  19. don't use this all at once, gotta make it last 2+months, but FG has its top 67 board for 2022 draft up https://blogs.fangraphs.com/2022-mlb-draft-rankings-and-offseason-list-primer/
