Miggy's contract is/was often used as an excuse by ownership, management, media and even fans to not spend (as soon as we get out from under it, we can spend!). Well, Bally's implosion could very well be the new built-in excuse to not spend (as soon as we figure media rights out, we can spend!). and I am not sure why the next batch of FAs will be ready and eager to sign non-ridiculous contracts with any team, let alone the Tigers.

Hollinger certainly knows more about the NBA than me, but Wiseman is 21 (!) and has played 3, 39, 0, and 21 games his last for years. Lots of guys never really get better, but the idea that the cake is baked at 21 always bothers me. (Grant Hill was at Duke at 21.) If you are going to have teenagers in the NBA, you have to find some patience which Det can offer.
