  1. The season was a stress test for Greene and Tork. We know what they are now. If you carry them forward, they need to be complemented with more talent. They can't carry a team.
  2. Making the playoffs two years in a row is nice...even with the expanded format. With the offense, these guys could sustain it. It's a bunch of decent players but no stars who can carry you out of a slump. I can't explain the risp numbers but everyone crashed at once.
  3. At this point, I'm not as fixated on the playoff result. These are going to be high leverage low scoring games. The teams that makes more contact is probably going to win...that's probably Cleveland. I want to see what lessons they learn moving forward. They need more contact guys offensively and fewer contact guys on the staff.
  4. Stolen from a tweet...these are all the pitchers from last year who are no longer around: • Beau Brieske • Sean Guenther • Ty Madden • Brenan Hanifee • Jason Foley • Bryan Sammons • Alex Faedo • Jackson Jobe Hanifee is around but not as good.
  5. I don't think they should overreact to this collapse because it's very strange that everything has gone wrong at once. I think they got a little high on their supply with all of the pitching moves and roster chaos. Eventually, they had no answers for any of it. They need to stabilize a few more positional players and redouble their efforts to get more pitching depth. 2024 Pitching chaos basically killed about 5 guys with injuries. That's hard to recover from.
  6. Whatever competitive character is, this is the opposite.
  7. The collapse of the offense is staggering. No slugging, no clutch hitting, just a lot of whiffs and outs. I don't get it. I think their belief in platoon magic was wishful thinking. And because the core hitters have slumped so much, you can't carry boat anchors like Meadows, Baez, Sweeney, and no Mckinstry. I understand why the pitching is bad..and I have real questions on how they fix it next year.
  8. Bailey Horn is not around..Kyle Finnegan is the move.
  9. we have the tiebreaker over Houston..not Seattle. They are playing this weekend so that race will likely be decided.
  10. I got nothing...if they go down because of their offense then they were cooked the whole time.
  11. Agreed....but Cleveland also has to go on a 2007 Colorado Rockies run.
  12. The Tigers are a max 90-92 win team. They were never 15 games better than Cleveland. I expect them to clinch this very deliberately. It will be annoying and stupid. Seattle is on a hot streak but I would like to hold them off for the bye.
  13. Vierling has been shutdown after a setback, Finnegan close to going out on a rehab assignment. Sewald close to getting his chance.
  14. Finnegan and Sewald should be in the equation by next week.
  15. Just don't get swept and we are fine. They called up Hurter and optioned Hannifee sometime yesterday. I wonder if they are keeping Skubal the chamber...if they lose the first two. Otherwise, his start can be pushed.
  16. 13 games left..I'd say 90 wins will do it.
  17. You have to pull him…maybe from existence. This is unprofessional.
  18. He has no command..it’s the walks that kill me.
