  1. There is no greater testimony to the failure of Sands than the presence of Haase as the back up catcher
  2. Anderson has had a very rough season
  3. I would try to lock him up so I could then trade him with a greater return. Trade him to the Braves...we seem to like dealing with them (assuming they're not on the list)
  4. In corporate management terms..the Lions have a "stretch goal" of making the playoffs and winning a game
  5. Would you offer ERod that one year extension at 20 million if he opts in ?
  6. Rogers is a very good defensive C with some power...he has a lot of value in today's game. I was half expecting him to get traded. Perez got hurt, Daz never panned out. In retrospect it was a horrible trade....at the time, I think most people thought Al Al did OK.
  7. Live football is back! I can only stand so many Youtube vids of old games. How about that Donovan Edwards though...he punished OSU
  8. He's 6-4 and can skate. Odd how he lasted until the 4th round. You would think a 6-4 RHD who can make it from one end of the ice to the other without falling down would go higher than that....😀
  9. Rogers was the lowest rated prospect of the three and he turned out to be the best player...by far. https://www.mlb.com/prospects/2017/astros/
  10. Lange is pitching like Hope Lange from the "Ghost and Mrs Muir"
  11. I'm no scout...but that looked like a nice, compact swing...
  12. I'm a long game guy...if yesterday is an aberration..over the long haul it won't mean anything. If it's a sign of things to come...that' a problem. The JD Martinez trade didn't kill us...all of the other deals that were as bad...worse..or never completed did
  13. Yep...shenanigans like that can definitely Erod-e your rep amongst your peers
  14. Jaymo seems a little high strung...hopefully he isn't Titus Young/Antoni Brown levels of high strung
  15. listening to 97.1's pet idiot Riger on the way home last night...he actually theorized that Harris didn't consider ERod's no trade status becaue he doesn't have a GM working under him...he's just too busy to know the details. I'm a bit mystified by the whole "closer to home " narrative any way. Unless you actually live in the town you play for...how much more difficult is it to get to wherever ERod lives than LA? . You travel all of the time anyway...so a flight form Detroit is a few hours shorter than a flight from LA...will 4-5 hours make or break whatever emergency you're in?
  16. Hmmmm...who could be the party that flaked...the guys with no history of erratic behavior or the guy who took a few months off in the middle of the season last year...because...because...who knows
  17. Given the issues he had last season and the injury this season...adding the perception that he f'd around with the Tigers and Dodgers on this deal might damage his market value to the point opting in makes the most sense for him.
  18. I find it easier to believe that Rodriguez changed his mind than Scott Harris is an idiot
  19. Dagger...through...my...heart. Unless he's just holding them up for $$$...then they can maybe work something out
  20. Blows my mind that the Chisox...a 90+ win team a year or so ago..are already in fire sale mode. Weren't they supposed tp dominate the Central for years?
  21. Proud to be an Astro From "Ball Four"...another pertinent Ball Four reference..."Dooley Womack...THE Dooley Womack"
  22. Bat Boy thinks we should have kept Candelario
  23. GTFO...that's a NICE haul On edit... Stupid fake people ruining my elation
  24. Candelario has had a nice season in the NL...you know who else had some great seasons in the NL? Javy Baez...
  25. Exactly...the overall stuff might look really good, but because he's working on something...or he's just inconsistent because he's a 20 year old working in a league he's a bit young for...he might get tagged for a few
