  1. and remember you had the strike the year before, then the replacement players in camp...
  2. ask anybody who worked in the restaurant industry how Sunday afternoons absolutely sucked b/c of the church crowd coming in... and how mean and awful the people were. I remember when they would talk about jobs involving sin and sinning. I'd ask "Can you be bartender even if you don't drink?" They'd say "No, because your job involves other people sinning". I always thought about that and the fact they would say working on Sunday was wrong if you had to miss church but if was often the busiest day of the week because of all those church people making others sin.
  3. Gibby retired the same day the team traded Mike Henneman. I think he'd just had enough. He wasn't happy with the organization. They traded David Wells a few days prior. I remember listening to WDFN, Jamie and Gregg, and they were interviewing a Tiger, maybe John Flaherty, and right in the middle they say something like "Uh... Kirk Gibson retired?..." and Flaherty didn't know and he just said he had to get off the phone.
  4. Is OAN an acronym for OnlyFans? Because I think that's where she ends up. Or she'll be the face of a conservative version of it. No woke porn.
  5. You mean when he didn't want disabled/disfigured vets around? "nobody wants to see that"
  6. You don't do a panic move like trading your pitching depth because if we are being honest 3 players aren't quite living up to their expectations. That's what this whole thing is about... 3 players. Torkelson, Keith, and Meadows. If you expected the other hitters to be better then that's on you. They weren't good. But these 3 mentioned players are the only ones hitting worse than I expected them to.
  7. Is he speaking from a political angle? Like it would have helped Biden? That’s the only excuse
  8. Maybe Biden has standards and doesn’t do business with networks that pay out lawsuit settlements. Multiple settlements.
  9. Outside of Tork and Keith and Meadows is anybody really surprised by the epically bad hitting from the others? If 2 out of 3 of those guys were just marginally better this team could have 4-5 more wins. You expected the team to move on from Tork after he hit 30HR last year with a later season bloom? Meadows is a rookie and sometimes they don’t pan out. But you have to let them play to be able to say that. Keith is on Harris somewhat because of the extension. That tells me they saw something.
  10. Initially the usual suspects would have said it’s horrible yada yada yada. Then slowly details would emerge to give them cover and they realize MAGA doesn’t care so they would chalk it up to gods will and worth the cost.
  11. Biden should just say something like “do you really want to go back to all of this? “
  12. 21 of 42 games this year were one run.
  13. The cynic in me is they don’t want you eating out before the game. They used to do it in April and Sept for midweek games. That was because of weather.
  14. Nobody would take Javy even if the Tigers paid all of his salary. He’s not worth the roster spot.
  15. I hate the 6:40 start time. It was still partially daylight last night when we walked out.
  16. I think it's just an age thing.
  17. One thing I hated about Tram being the manager is I had to criticize my hero. He was a stickler on the matchups and it drove me crazy. Just very predictable.
  18. that's exactly right.
  19. Hinch talked about that in his podcast interview with Jason and Dan. He said he's not a strict conformist on the matchups but it depends the players involved. I am not saying he's right or wrong but that he puts more thought into it than just L/L.
  20. how pathetic. You become a member of congress, either a House member or Senator, you even make it to Speaker. But you have to publicly show up at a courthouse for one of a fraudsters several trials.
  21. well to be honest it was actually as best of a retort you can do... and he followed it up with "I've heard Bill Clinton say worse on the golf course" which is: a) totally believable b) the husband of the person you are running against c) also a former President and many dems knew he was like that and were ok enough with it It was the fourth or fifth "I can't believe it. This will definitely be the one thing that drags him down..." and you initially see the "normal" GOP say the right things then as acceptence gains they fall back in line.
  22. Only white men who speak English should vote, serve on Jurors, and hold elective office. That's the Alabama way.
