Going with my wife to see Pink this summer and my joke is she's going to see Pink and I'm going to see Brandi. But Pink's alright and I'm sure the show will be phenominal but Brandi is my girlfriend even if I'm not her preference.

No. I have a local deli that's been around for at least 35 years and every Tuesday I get a chicken caeser wrap. I'm sure it's nothing special but he loads it up. The oil from the dressing starts to drip through the wrap onto my hand as i hold it. I look forward to it every week. Became a pandemic thing. I start to get sad when I'm almost finished with it. My wife gets mad that I won't wait until Thursday when she's home but it's gotta be Tuesday. You go back to work on Monday, things might be a little busier but come Tuesday morning things settle down and I know at 11:20 it's time to order. I can do it online and it's ready when I get there. It's literally my favorite thing to eat and has been for 3 years. Nothing I will eat the rest of the week will top it.

I don't consider any of this radical at all. Many people share the same thoughts. When you say people mock Christians I don't think you are the target.
-
and may of those people who don't want to share don't grasp that even though they paid into social security and medicare they often get back much more than they put in. And that's a good thing.

A government employee with a security clearance making business deals with China is a non story?

It's also telling that the GOP never "got rid of it" when they could even though they said they would... Also, you described yourself as hard right. I wouldn't have guessed that. I detected right leanings but not something I'd call "hard right". I appreciate the discourse and if that's indeed true it's good to have that perspective intelligently represented here. Given what I know about you from here I get the sense you represent a significant portion of our electorate in terms of who wins and loses.

I always thought the way the LGBTQ thing played out, especially gay marriage, was arranged. The legend is Biden says it publicly and backs Obama in a corner. I view that as a good cop/bad cop situation. Sort of like forcing someone else, with little risk since he's VP, to make the decision for him.

This could be the updated 2009 season. Just get close. -
A few years ago we were told of a big snow coming and there was a news story about heart attacks so my wife strongly hinted we get one. I'm approaching 50 so I figured this would be the last one I ever buy. I got the last one at Lowe's, around $900. This was Dec 2021. I've used it three times and once was just to use it when I didn't really need to.

This was a good win. It's still may and you need to stomp out losing streaks in order to prevent a spiral. -
People will believe what they want to be true. I’m fearful of something more localized. What if a disgruntled employee, student, or parent makes one of these about someone and we end up with some kind of vigilante justice? Yeah I know…. I browse too many lifetime movie network listings. Girl doesn’t make the cheerleading squad? Jealous mom makes a video showing the girl who made the squad over her daughter in a compromising situation and if spreqds. Girl commits suicide.

How was the weather nationally?

I first saw that video from a pro trump account. I read the replies and I agree with them, then I notice the MAGA hats in the avatars. Surreal experience. I think the GOP strategy among the other candidates is to knock off Desantis and hope some external factor keeps Trump out of the race and leave the rest for a Scott of Haley or Hutcheson to pick up the leftovers with Trump giving a half assed endorsement. I think now the only path for a GOP win is to go for the middle and hope Trumpies stay home. Too many Trump fans will not vote for another Republican politician.

This is a guy very uncomfortable outside of his zone.

“Can.we just watch friends?”

I prefer to call him Boris.

I don’t think Pence didn’t get into the car because he feared for his safety. It was because he had strong suspicions they wouldn’t agree to bring him back. Is that because they planned it that way or they just wouldn’t think it would be safe? He knew the process started on January 6 had to be completed.

It's ok to do that to condense some things. One of my favorite President movies is Thirteen Days and Costner was the producer and star so they made his character, Ken O'Donnell, more of a prominent participant in the Cuban Missile Crisis than he actually was. But they needed a focus and by making it a secondary person it means you don't change history too much. Everything in that movie that was said was said by someone, just not who said it in the movie. Instead of 18 princpal characters you have 7. I was looking forward to this series and will watch but I've heard similar things about it so it won't be a priority.

good question. I could see it being something like an intern or something. But it's also kind of important since it affects actual play.

and their freedom to not see, hear, or be otherwise exposed to anything that offends them in the slightest.

Why do gun nuts want to be around children so often?

I always assumed that. Wahlberg/Damon/Leo was such a head spinner for me to keep straight in that movie.

2023 Detroit Tigers Regular Season Discussion Thread

ha ha... mine also had a similar memory where Buster said it's like watching Ruth in 27, Williams in '49. HOF caliber at their peak. -
Good point. How many times do we see an OF jump for a ball that's about 30 feet up the wall or into the stands? TV tech wasn't the best prior up to 1999 so we can't really tell where the ball were hit. My seats at Comerica are midway between 1B and RF and I saw some epic VMart, Papi, and Prince moon shots. In this scenario I think the short RF hurts the cause of this ever happening. The point you make on the wind is valid though along with any other factors like spin.
-
how hard would one have to hit the ball at an extreme launch angle to travel 330 feet yet come down at that angle? Do we have data on current trajectories given all the lidor and high speed cameras in use now? Seems like you could analyze what's been hit since we have that tech just to see if any would fit this profile. I'm not saying it never happened but from listening to old timers they make it sound like it was a regular thing.
