  1. delay obstruct and wait it out until the election and they hope the GOP regains control of the House then they will be free go to. Probably their only play.
  2. I've been to a wedding and two funerals..... sport coat for both. No tie. The wedding was outdoors on July 2.
  3. I don't see it as a negative thing except for people in the business. Most fans won't even know he said it. Al isn't polished but if he's building a good team in the offices, which it seems now that he's doing.... then so be it. A good leader listens to his people. A good leader knows what he's good at and what he's not good at. From reading things about Dombrowksi it sounds like he was a lone wolf. Maybe Avila is content to share the spotlight and not get too big for his breeches. He doesn't need the President/CEO title. He's content to be the old fashioned general manager that rode the train with the newspaper boys.
  4. I've been watching that more lately since I am home and it's sure changed from when I would watch like 10 years ago.
  5. I'm working from home so I basically wear sweat shorts, sweat pants, a T shirt, and if necessary a zip up hoodie. and I have some slippers for when it gets cold. I really really love not having to wear socks. My feet sweat a lot of during normal times they are toast. The only time I wear socks and shoes is when I run or work out. I had one "nice" outfit I would wear if needed... some khakis and a polo. Most days I will either run or work out after work so putting on "normal" clothes is silly.
  6. new owners want it to remain as is... which I hope. Admittedly I haven't been there in years because I had closer options for a good bar burger and I thought they were a little pricey there. But I appreciate the legacy. People from over seas would come to Dearborn to visit Ford and they all wanted to go to Miller's. But I'm not sure there's an appetite for it. People say they love these kinds of places and antique shops and independent retail yet when one opens up nobody goes. It takes an entrepreneur spirit and when you have one generation running a business the second generation often goes off and does their own thing and by the time they want to retire the 2nd gen are already settled in their career.... A little bar near me just sold... going to become a hamburger and ice cream place. Previous owner bought the place just a few years ago, he ran some other bars in the area, but he's retiring. Still have 2 bars within walking distance though. Another dive bar about 1/2 mile away is still for sale after never reopening from the pandemic. I think we're also going to see a lot of the old school Chinese Food places close up over the next few years too. Not because the food is bad but you need people to run them. The best restaurant in Dearborn, Sahara, had to shut down temporarily due to staffing. The owner is a great guy but one day it was just him and his brother who showed up.
  7. the equal time thing only applies to over the air broadcasters because in theory the public owns the airways... but cable and satellite makes that a moot point since that's only one way now to communicate. It's an archaic rule based on ancient technology. It's the same with nudity and swearing. You can say shit and fuck on AMC but not on ABC. You could show a tit on AMC but not on ABC. Any censorship on cable is self regulating.
  8. And from the looks of it, 90% of those dirty protesters, are probably on some sort of public assistance... you know... socialism I think they call it?
  9. Because he’s not a snowflake
  10. We need more George Wills. jeans are a tough thing to pull off at a certain age if your goal is to “look good”. Especially if you tuck your shirt in. Think george costanza
  11. I remember reading Bill James a long time ago write about studying the career of Stan Musial and trying to figure out one stretch of really bad home games. Couldn’t determine why. Later he had the chance to ask him about it and Stan said “that’s when one of my kids was just born and he wouldn’t sleep. I was so tired when we were home. Got no rest”.
  12. And the people doing it either didn’t vote or there’s a 99% chance they are part of the Trump cult. That’s part of his legacy.
  13. Tigers announce all coaches will be back for 2022 with the possible exception of Kimera Bartee, who was a late season fill in at 1B after Chip Hale left to coach Arizona. He will be part of the interviewed candidates, which is what he was told at the time. That's a good sign.
  14. The racists are out in LIvingston County protesting the President..... while the rest of the people are working.
  15. I run on a trail, paved, but a trail nontheless and I get annoyed when people on their bikes do not announce themselves until the very end. One guy that we see just rings his bell. We don't take up the whole pathway. Just announce "on your left", like Falcon did in Endgame. And do it when before you are on our heels.
  16. I hope it works out better than when the Lions raided the Patriots
  17. Generally when I watch a playoff game I root for the visiting team. I like to see the home fans suffer a loss. Since my team can’t be in it then I want them to feel anguish.
  18. Coppola was like that on the Godfather II when he had clout. in part 1 when they go to vegas there is an establishing shot outside a casino. You see a couple of hippie dudes walking by the door. The second unit filmed that and they did it intentionally to mess with Coppola, who they did not like.
  19. That happens here in Dearborn where people are buying single story houses, knocking them down, save one wall to avoid it being called "New Construction", then they build a 5K sq foot mansion with circular driveway, no back yard, no greenspace, blocking the views of neighbors, often with no respect give to building codes, guy just shows up with a backhoe and starts digging, no Miss Digg, etc..... then they bitch because the taxes went from $3000 a year to $12K a year.
  20. It was better than The Irishman..... No, it's not as good as those other movies. Those are among the greatest ever, you just listed 3 Best Picture winners and another that should have won. This wasn't supposed to be an epic. It's a story he wanted to tell about a reference from The Sopranos.
  21. agreed.... like you said, there's a reason he's still a rookie.
  22. They pay property taxes on the house in Virginia. That house was over $1M. Not sure if that answers your questions. I pay about $5K a year.
  23. The article said they avoided about 45K in taxes since 2015 on a house assessed at 250K. I don't know if that's the taxable value or the home's value. I read the article last night and going off memory.
