The critique I see here is a musical one which is fine to have if it's not your cup of tea but it's not hurting anybody if an ostracized community finds comfort and pleasure from "house" music that may not live up to your standards of what music should be. this sounds to me like people in the 90's complaining that Rap and Hip Hop was not real music. That sentiment was very real and it isn't until the last 10-15 years that suddenly everybody seems to have been a fan when I can tell you as a young adult at the time they certainly were not. I learned from a recent Bee Gees documentary about the evolution of Disco and it's prominence in the gay community very early on. Then the Bee Gees made Saturday Night Fever and suddenly everybody decided to make disco and that's what ruined it. It had it's niche market and was fine but then it was over saturated. There was also some definite anti gay sentiment behind the drive against it. Not saying that's what people today are doing but within the times of the 70's that was a force.

And somehow in my sleepy state I knew which button to hit to switch to FM and how many hits of static to dial to get to WRIF for Drew and Mike. Fall back asleep. Wake up. Go to class. Get back around noon. Go to sleep. Ah the life.

I saw Miggy hit a HR last year and immediately got a little goose bumpy thinking "This could be his last HR here" or "I might have seen him hit the last HR in person".... things like that. If the team were in contention and winning games mattered to get into the playoffs, then yes, you could argue it's better to put a less crappy guy in the lineup. But he's not going to block anybody good with his at bats this season. Miggy is the best position player many of us have ever see in a Tiger uniform.

I think Mitch is in a good position. He did his job. He got 3 lifetime appointments to the SC. That was all him. The rest of his career is gravy. He doesn’t need the crazies anymore. He can play the high road now and attempt to protect his legacy.

and I realized the GOP wasn't really fiscally responsible. To them that means tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations. The spending stayed the same. Just a matter of who gets it. In that scenario I'd rather it be those who need it. The GOP wants a world where you either make a half million or more a year, or you are stuck in service/gig jobs struggling to get to $50K a year. You are easier to control that way.

are you questioning that his milestone chase didn't drive up attendance for certain games? They drew 65K fans for a double header on a Saturday in April. Without 3000 hits that wouldn't have happened. I'm guessing if they do a "Miggy" day here, before school starts in September, that will draw well. But obviously attendance potential is not going to be a factor in what the team decides to do.

If the issue is simply paid sick days that seems like small potatoes to cause such a disruption.
