  1. Still.... "This is the fifth time I've been dumped by a Victoria's Secret Angel"
  2. I recently learned a few years ago that SRV played on Let’s Dance. Never knew that.
  3. Russia can sue the Times for libel? The first sentence factually states the transfers are happening. No qualifier. Therefore I don’t see the need for “potential”. I don’t think the times needs to worry about calling it a “war crime”. It’s a generic enough term. Nobody’s going to sue them.
  4. That’s how I feel. Got anyone better?
  5. I say that because I assume they want to do whatever is needed to prevent any chance of insolvency. It’s not just a bad look for the league but there’s real world implications for their competition. Imagine a scenario where a team is behind on payment to vendors so they stop supplying clean towels. Or a hotel or airplane situation comes up where a team can’t get to KC in time and a game has to be forfeited. Stadium support staff walks out because payroll once again didn’t get met? MLB teams are not trying to put each othe out of business. They are all partners.
  6. I have nothing to back this up with but I would say no because the ultimate goal is to protect the overall brand of MLB of which a team is a franchise of. They can make the appropriate business deal for themselves, regarding financing, but MLB has rules and standards that have to be met.
  7. And I didn’t fully grasp it at the time myself. We have cousins that live nearby and they aways tell us we can stay with them. DC is great with so much free stuff. Our kids were small at the time so things were hectic. I almost want to go back by myself.
  8. There really isn’t any porn stars today other than only fans. So I have heard.
  9. I never knew of Arlingtons history until I went there in 2009.
  10. People admitting they are stupid.
  11. Men need to understand this could be their wives, daughters, sisters, even mothers in the case of 18-20 year olds.
  12. Also “how do you like my push up bra?”
  13. I will defend Mike I a little bit early on. He got a team that was ok in late 1992. In 1993 they had a decent year. Were in first place as late as mid June. That group fell fast but he finally hired some seasoned baseball people from baseball families. Not a bad strategy from a guy who wasn’t around the game very long. The problem wasn’t the bad years. It was the so so years like 1997 and 2000 that gave a misleading hint that maybe they were close. That’s where they get you.
  14. those cops will be fired soon
  15. Yes the Cardinals to me are the model franchise. But you are right that the changes that need to take place go beyond just the front office staff making draft choices and trades and signings. It's also development. I always say it's not about just picking the right players but making the players you do pick into something. That's also a skill. Good and even average players are not always born or finished products.
  16. They say things like "well that's bad, yes, but.... what about the people who just sleep around?" It's easy to come up with a solution when you don't have to pay any consequences.
  17. The extremists will blame her for going through fertility treatments and tell her she should have adopted.
  18. I really didn't care who won that series because I hate both teams for different reasons. But part of me is glad the Yankees won to quell more whining about top seeds not advancing in the new format because some people think it's unfair if there are upsets in the playoffs.
  19. the other schadenfreude with the Phils is Joe Girardi.
  20. There's a happy go lucky ad in support of Proposal 2 being aired. They show some Trumpy type people but they are smiling and being positive. One dude tilts his head. It ends with the odd couple, middle aged white guy next to a younger black girl. It's a good ad but a bit too over the top and that makes me suspicious. Like an enthusastic guy who loves kids driving around in an ice cream truck.
  21. Yesterday we learned that James McDivitt passed away last week. He was a Gemini and Apollo astronaut. Part of the second group. In a space themed Facebook page I belong to someone shared this first person story by Jim. So one time early in our training, the nine of us were off somewhere in a big city at an expensive hotel, and they’d given us a food allowance that really didn’t go very far. And about the third day Neil comes up to Ed White and me and says, “C’mon, I know where we are eating tonight.” So Neil takes us down to a huge banquet room with the biggest buffet we had ever seen, and tells us the Teamsters are having their annual convention and you can do go through the line as often as you wanted and no one would ask any questions. “You sure?” we ask. “Sure,” says Neil. “I ate here last night.” So we got our food and we’re sitting there in the booth minding our own business, enjoying our food, when along comes this big guy, stands there at the end of the booth with his arms folded and growls, “You guys aren’t truck drivers, are you?” We start to explain that no, we are hungry pilots, but he waves his hand and says, ”Look, I don’t care who you are, as long as you’re quiet. But if you know the guys in the corner over there, you might warn them that they’re about to get kicked out.” “So we look, and sure enough, it’s Conrad and Lovell yucking it up at the top of their lungs.”
  22. Who did Manson hurt? A future pedophile rapist and his unwed wife, a bunch of dirty hippies and tried to kill a RINO president? What's the probleM?
