It's surreal watching this today and thinking about 2 years ago.... the cops pointing their guns at the door we are seeing quite often.

I don't watch Yellowstone, have no idea what it's about other than a western of some sort, but I saw tweets saying some people are upset that it's become "woke" because of a plot point. That made me laugh. We binged White Lotus over the break. It was entertaining but the whole "rich people suck" angle jumped out. I got past it though. I'm not looking for that when I watch TV shows.

Based on non votes McC needs 3 more votes. 431 voting members. But one of the D's that didn't vote is on their way back which will move his up to 217 required as there would be 432 voting members. So on a new vote he needs 4.

Gosar flipped to McCarthy. That guy looks weird.... his mannerisms. Almost like someone with Parkinson's or something like it. Mack will finish in the lead but will be short. Will they/can they change it to a plurality rather than majority? Are missing voters going to make the threshhold smaller to win? So that 218 isn't needed? Who isn't there?

Replies are funny. Although I do get a little put off when Hollywood tries to make fun of itself yet everyone involved in said production is still doing what they mock. It’s fine because the shows are entertaining and nobody forces me to watch. But don’t pretend to be making some big social commentary either.

At the end of the day I guess I blame McCarthy. He knows he doesn’t have the votes. Those 20 members, despite their motivations, are entitled to vote for the speaker they wish. He’s the one who is making this foolish now. They stood their ground. It’s time for the GOP to accept reality and come up with a solution.

"I seen that" in the Detroit News push alert. I remember when she upset Abraham in 2000. I think she would have beaten Engler in 1994 if Dems didn't nominate Wolpe. I think that was when the UAW still had some stronger sway in the party.

It's simply a game of chicken between the FC and McCarthy. Whoever flinches is wounded. FC doesn't care if nothing goes further. They can blame McCarthy and look like heroes to their voters. They win even if the country loses. If McCarthy or the GOP flinches then the nation knows the FC owns them.

I'm fine with the org not putting lipstick on a pig. We don't need a press conference with Fernando Vina and Jason Johnson circa 2004 telling us things will get better. Those are the types of things available to him at this point so why bother? Last year they did the big splash with Baez and now everyone wants him gone. Do fans learn nothing?

Right. One is an actual policy. The other is just showmanship and fake investigations. Policy can be negotiated and parceled out bit by bit.
