  1. I have heard that his food empire, both pizza and distribution, were always cutting edge technology wise. Chris did not just inherit that business. He ran it directly.
  2. Did anybody in the BB/BCS world come out unscathed? I don't think we're going to see any happy endings.
  3. I don't think we'll see any more spinoffs. Jonathan Banks is 75 years old. the only thing I could see is something with Skinny Pete and Badger, like a comedy. But is that heavy enough for Gilligan and Gould? Maybe Jesse.
  4. They can't live with the pretzel logic they wrapped themselves in. "It's murder... but you shouldn't murder someone else to stop that murder but it's the same. Something something"
  5. Those conversations did exist in those states prior to the recent Christian taliban Supreme Court ruling. The ruling made those conversations outdated and illegal. Pro life politicians have no interest in having them and neither do their voters.
  6. A guy on a movie group I am a part of compared BCS and BB to godfather I and II. “Breaking Bad is like The Godfather and Better Call Saul is like The Godfather Part 2. The original is more universal, more digestible. Can attract a bigger audience with more mass appeal. The sequel is deeper, darker, and somehow better than the original. All this to say, what a remarkable accomplishment Better Call Saul is.”
  7. What conversation? That a woman should bleed out for 10 days while a dying fetus is inside of her and our right to life religious but jobs just shrug their shoulders?
  8. I was thinking about that after I posted. The use of that word is very insensitive to the often very difficult position a woman and her doctors face. It’s insulting. Like if you don’t agree with him then you are just a weak person. Get that machismo bullshit out of here.
  9. should also have the courage and respect towards women to let them make their own decisions about their health and body. If he's a devout catholic so be it. He can live that life if he chooses. It's also easy for a man to talk such a way when they're not the ones facing death or physical harm. Harbaugh is sharing a thought on what someone's personal philosophy should be but that's not enough to make it into law.
  10. you think like just saul being saul and no attempts to close anything out or tie up loose ends... just shenanigans? Then we move to Gene. I saw a snippet of the paywalled Rolling Stone piece that says Gould/Gilligan didn't set out for this to be a Jimmy and Kim show but the actors and characters were so good that they had no choice but to go that way.
  11. well this sucks
  12. another good point. Epstein was the "first" disciple I guess of Billy Beane but now there's hundreds of them who are younger, hungrier, and probably smarter.
  13. thanks for the link because I had forgotten about the BCS insider podcast. For some reason it didn't feed an update to me.
  14. Gilligan said that Bob had his heart attack during the filming of the scene when Lalo had him tied up. they got about half done until he recovered and he was marveling at Bob's acting ability in that you can't tell which is which.
  15. There's nothing the Tigers could offer Theo Epstein to get him to come here except ownership.
  16. Here's Smith's best picks by year 96 - Robert Fick 97 - nobody worth squat 98 - Jeff Weaver/Brandon Inge 99 - Cody Ross/Jason Frasor 00 - Nook Logan 🙂 01 - Ryan Raburn Now for 2002 it's up to you whether to give credit to Smith or DD as I think most of Smith's guys were still here: 2002 - Granderson/Zumaya I'm only offering that up as information.... Smith also traded Cecil Fielder and Travis Fryman for Matt Drews, in two separate transactions.
  17. which game are you interested in going to? I have some to exchange. I can get you 4 in the same section probably that i saw you in years ago. When I exhcanged some last week they put in the very same seats actually.
  18. Here's the timeline: Ilitch bought the team in August of 92. From then you had a mess of Joe McDonald, Jerry Walker, and Joe Klein. Then McHale brought in Randy Smith who was well thought of and came from a baseball family. I actually don't think he hung on to Smith too long. The team came close to .500 after being decrepit for most of the 90's. Randy was here for 6 full seasons, you give him a pass on the first few, then the team flirts with .500 in 2000. After the lousy 2001 season Ilitch hires DD as President and CEO which we all knew meant he'd be GM at some point and sure enough a week into 2002 Smith is fired. I think that's about right. You should count the hiring of DD as Smith's axe. Let DD see what he has to work with and let him make the call for his reasons.
  19. "the slaves loved working on the plantation"
  20. I walked by the TV with Fox News on, because my so insists on it being on all the time, and the chyron said "WH trying to take credit for falling gas prices"
  21. I didn't focus on record this year, I wanted to see the young players we were excited about develop. Everybody got hurt and Tork's bat isn't there. So I am once again back to just enjoying the time at the ballpark in a social angle and not really worrying about what happens on the field. one of my last games I realized I spent most of the time talking to the guy behind me and looking around then actually the game. I hadn't seen him since 2019 because of the pandemic and the fact they couldn't come last year, they live in Canada. We caught up on 2 years of family life. Talked about the Red Wings and gambling and Wayne Gretzky.... "Oh, there's a game?"
  22. oh right, I forgot about that. We all know their mistresses will still get their safe abortions.
  23. This is what happens when you have knee jerk theocratic politicians focused on what they see as the sin of premarital sex and want to use laws to cramp down on what they see as slutty women. They don't think things through. Pro life my ass.
  24. I wish when Elton John planned his tour he would have considered not performing on a Monday night because of BCS. I might try and stay up and watch this when I get home. Depends how soon I get out of the stadium being on the ground floor. It might take some time to make our way out. Didn't have this problem at last week's Crue/Leppard concert as a lot of people left during MC's set as the sound was horrible.
  25. She's not dumb. She did a direct pivot, the opposite of Cheney, because she knew that's the way to get to the top in today's GOP. It's all calculated. She's role playing.
