  1. Do teachers in those grades ever mention parents? They can claim it’s lesson plans exclusive but when Susie comes home and tells mama Karen that Sandy in her class has two daddies….
  2. These are evangelicals who feel Liberty University just might be a little too liberal. Think Bob Jones University.
  3. This is all fun but I still have this feeling that there will be a major breakthrough by Russia. I’m not following it closely but could this be like D-Day where we are still in the “dying on the beach” scenario but eventually sheer numbers wins over?
  4. You don't have to convince me. I went to HS with these people and many are still my friends but on this they're nuts. It's just so ingrained in their beliefs there's no getting through. That Noah's Ark/Creation museum thing in Kentucky is a big draw.
  5. John Paul said evolution was a real thing in the mid 90's and I recall a scathing Cal Thomas article condemning it. Sounds like you had a rogue teacher in catechism.
  6. you are simply full of unadulterated unrefined shit
  7. you are asking why a bill declaring targeted murder is indeed wrong has bipartisan support and why people are criticizing a law that tries to erase gay people from existence?
  8. The catholic church doesn't really believe all of that anymore. But in my upbringing it's just accepted as fact the earth is 7-10K years old and evolution is BS. "God created the Earth with age" is what they said.
  9. This is good news
  10. What also was "sad" was the prosecutor who tried to cover it up, who is now facing charges over it. It was also sad how the cops were concerned for the well being of the murderers. Lynchings were not just the murder of black people. It was the state sanctioned murders of black people and until video emerged this was headed down that way.
  11. How does the mechanics of a vote work? I assume previous proposals were voted on by everyone or does the exec community have the ability to not even let it get that far? If they can "block" it then how did an 0-8 proposal get to the players? We might be overthinking it. I mentioned before a good cop/bad cop scenario. The exec committee is just doing it's job and if they think the deal is still bad they can't in good conscience recommend a vote in favor but at the end of the day the players decide. It's sort of like an agent to an actor. THey could say "I don't think you should do the role for the lead in Police Academy 8 that's going to stream on Tubi over a minor role in this new marvel movie" but the actor can't resist the paycheck or other perk they might see.
  12. And you surely wouldn’t trust him to even drive a vehicle considering how he ended up in that chair along which I assume resulted in the head injury that makes him sound like a complete moron.
  13. Could be a good cop/bad cop scenario.
  14. When human beings decide the maps and have to take certain things into consideration then isn't everything a gerrymander? If you could just draw maps based on geography and no other social considerations like race/income/voting history then you won't have gerrymandering. What if you had a rule that said a boundary has to be a state road? I have no idea if that's even possible but introduce some hard coded language... of course that could lead to bad decisions on what makes a road a local/county/state road. "Ok, fine the state takes this dirt road over"
  15. until the owners find some other small thing to quibble about, then they will wait until next week to counter, when the players come back with another offer, they will cancel more April games, then the next morning agree to pretty much what the players countered with....
  16. "Fix the roads" "Why is there always construction???" It sets a bad precedent. I'm sorry but gas prices are not out of control. It's a cute news story and convenient talking point, like the weather, but I refuse to believe an extra $15 a week per car is crushing most people. If it is then you are doing something wrong.
  17. For the evangelicals it's another opportunity to play the persecution/victim card and give them the misguided belief that they share that with the Apostles and early Christians. "They hate us for our faith" is a cornerstone in that sect.
  18. because they do. This costs them nothing. They can be firm right now with no risk.
  19. yep. They hate the blacks and the gays. When they show you who they are... believe them. If a teacher asks a 3rd grader to bring in a photo of their parent(s) or asks them what their parents do for a living will the children of gay parents be asked to go out in the hall or stay home that day? That might be considered "instruction" or "indoctrination". Conservative snowflakes need their safe spaces.
  20. Conservatives love meddling into local affairs. "Things should be local except for what we hate and that has to be federal"
  21. I bet every male legislator that voted for this has some awesome lesbian porn bookmarked or on a flash drive somewhere
  22. Not a single one of those names is surprising. It's the whackjob bloc.
  23. It’s almost like the owners don’t really care if there’s baseball in April. They pulled a Lucy.
  24. I know some mayors and other civic leaders would like more activity in urban areas. A lot of businesses that catered to people in offices are hurting. But what can you do? Capitalism. Supply and demand. it’s why I cringe when I see news of more urban development in both residential and commercial spaces. Where is the demand for it? Especially at higher prices. Young people wanted urban 2 years ago to be close to the office. But they now see freedom to work from anywhere as more beneficial. And it’s a catch 22. Part of the appeal to some to living urban was the liveliness but is that diminishing as more businesses close due to decline of office workers ?
