we got some from Big Bob's last year and same deal. They told us ahead of time there'd be a delay due to supply chain issues. At one point they called and said one piece could be available but to call back as soon as we could as someone else might snatch it up who was also waiting. It got here when they said it got here and that's all I can ask.
Although I laugh at the recent trend of "hey, pay us $50 extra and we will unwrap it for you"
The thing I remember about 2010 is it seemed like we were still hanging on to the old guard and the team struggled to find even replacement level players to fill in the gaps. Wil Rhymes, Boesch, Johnny Damon, Sizemore, Worth, Adam Everett.... a revolving door of AAA outfielders and infielders. Brad Thomas, Ryan Perry....
For some reason I don't have a bad taste in my mouth after this season. The last month of the season had some good games to watch.
A friend had a washer set to be delivered to their lake house. They said Saturday at 2. They got a call Thursday before from the driver that they are there. “Uh we are an hour away in good traffic. Nobody told us you were coming”. And it’s not like Irish hills is nearby for those guys.
Last week I went to Windsor to visit friends for dinner and coffee later in amherstburg. Going through customs was a breeze. No waiting. That was the bridge. Last night we went to the casino to see Bill Burr. Took the tunnel. Again no real issues and things were very fast in terms of customs. The tunnel even has an app now you can prepay tolls with via QR code.
the peeve? The layout on the US side of the bridge has always been a cluster. Makeshift lanes. Cones. Handmade signs. I get it that they probably have to shift things around as traffic conditions change.
on the tunnel US side when you leave customs you go down this very narrow corridor which looks to be incorrect but it was the only way to go. They have barricades on the side that looks like it’s just storage. Portable Speed bumps scattered around in different directions on the ground. I literally thought I was going into a dead end. My son thinks it’s done that way to keep people from speeding away out on to Jefferson.
It's at the Hampton Inn in downtown W Dearborn. He's on the third floor and barricaded. Negotiating with police. He won't be hurting anyone else at this point but the area is on lockdown obviously.
I would argue that the IF snagging a 110 mph meant the hitter put it in the wrong spot. That's within the bounds of competition. Hitter got beat by an opposing competitor who also did his job well.
I'm not saying move the fences in to make the team better. I'm saying move it in because I think the product on the field is degraded because of them. The game itself. As a fan I like success rewarded. Someone mashes the ball correctly and is denied b/c he's in 1 of 30 parks... that makes me feel cheated. I like quality baseball. I like when players are out at the plate because of two strong and well executed relay throws. I like to see excellence in action. If someone does their job they should be rewarded.
also maybe in 2017 the Tigers would have been way above average in HR.
I'm in on moving in the walls too. Don't have to make it a band box like Cleveland but it's just too extreme the way it is today. I do think it messes with our players heads and their approach. Visiting players not so much because they're only here for a few days so they know it's over soon.
Justin has a player option available for $25 Million for 2023.
Will he pick it up? He and the Astros seem to be getting along pretty well and it wouldn't shock me if he picks it up or they announce a 2 year 60 contract.
Unless there's some things going on behind the scenes where he'd not want to stay with a team that's sitting on 105 games and he's had the best years of his career and they gave him the deal after TJ with that unknown
The weird thing is once mid August and September hit I watched more games attended on a regular basis than the beginning of the season. Seems like things winded down for me and the weather was decent. I went to 3 games last week, plus a Mud Hens game. Because of that I will miss them.
Not quite from my understanding. The lottery only determines picks 1-6 but every non postseason team is eligible to be one of those picks. Not much variance according to this chart between 6th and 7th place.
