  1. I was thinking about the OF model last night. We watched an episode on TNT of a new series called Rich and Shameless. It was about the guy, Joe Francis, who started Girls Gone Wild. Crazy stories. Drunk 18 year old girls write their name on a release for a 5 second boob flash or trip on "the bus for more explicit action" and their lives changed forever. In one instance an irate father got a lawyer and Joe Francis told his people to make sure she's in the next video and to put her on the cover of it. He's now hiding out in Mexico to avoid charges.
  2. MAGA world thinks Tim Allen has been cancelled by Disney because Chris Evans voices Buzz in the new movie. Even Patricia Heaton was complaining. Nevermind that Tim has an upcoming series on Disney+ and that the Buzz played by Capt. America is the real person that Buzz the toy was based on.
  3. They can’t stop building mansions here in Dearborn. Knock down everything from a 1000 sq foot house except one wall, to avoid certain rules as it’s classified as a remodel instead of new construction. Then cover as much greenspace as possible and put a circular drive out front. Then wonder why the east end floods.
  4. Is there a claim to a video? I am not ready to believe it. But I can accept she was a whore. I can accept that Ted Cruz impregnated a prostitute. I can accept that both either had or arranged an abortion. I can accept she’s the type to blackmail someone. I can accept Ted is slimy enough to be blackmailed. Any of those things is believable.
  5. I don’t think whacked but the SS wouldn’t have taken him back “for his safety”. Then again his CoS did contact the chief of the SS espressing concern for his safety so who knows.
  6. I have little memories of the 87 series with MN for some reason. I guess I don't recall ever really thinking they would win it after the first 2 games. Maybe when the gut punch is early you rationalize it. The absolute peak after that to me was game 4 against the Yankees when Bonderman walked off the mound after his performance. You knew they'd win. The Maggs homer itself was a better single moment but by that point we knew the Tigers would win the series. Game 4 in the '06 WS was the downer. I went with a friend to watch the game at a bar in Wyandotte and we left to get back home. I left that bar convinced the Tigers were going to win the game. They were up in game 4, tying the series at 2. Win game 5 then have Kenny Rogers close it out on Saturday. Seemed logical. The '13 ALCS had Papi's HR as shock value but games 3 and 5 were worse.
  7. https://dc.nhl.com/stanley-cup 3D rendering of the Cup that allows you to zoom in on the rings. I notice the Ilitch family has like 9 people listed.
  8. I had an accounting professor in college who confided in me that he was worth $12M, this was in 1996. He didn't do it to brag. He was one of those lifetime influence guys for me. Talked about work/life balance. He was divorced and said the business success cost him his marriage and he'd change that in a heartbeat if he could. I remembered that and never missed a kids event b/c of work (Tiger games, yes, but never work. Work always waited). He was in his 60's and teaching because he didn't have to work. I would hang out in his office because at that point in my college "career" I finally switched to the path I would take and as a result I had some remedial classes to take to meet the requirements to get into the program I picked. I had 2 hours between classes so we'd shoot the shit over coffee. I invited him to my wedding 2 years later. When I asked about investment/stock advice he stopped cold. "I dont advise friends. It's my money and once I introduce other people's money into it the calculus changes because I feel either too responsible or too reckless. When it's only my money I'm not as nervous".
  9. I don’t understand all of this and this is why…. Things are not good so the fed has to do their thing. Word is the fed is going to do their thing. Markets react negatively. Makes me think it’s all bullshit and what’s going to happen will happen anyway so what’s the point in worrying?
  10. The craziness of the GOP also started to show itself with Bill Clinton. There was just no way they could accept a womanizing philanderer who lacked character and who didn’t serve in any kind of military as a legit president.
  11. beat me to it. I think the Royals have rebuilt a few times since the Tigers heyday of Leyland/DD as well. The team put their eggs the fall in your lap top prospects that horrible teams receive and some has beens who were good for a few weeks. The Ilitch regime is not about results they are about branding and marketing. As long as they have the clowns on TV talking about Pick The Stick and they get Rocket Mortgage to sponsor the foul poles and they can trot out some lame slogan like "Detroit Roots" he's fine. They're fine with selling crappy pizza as long as they can make 15 cents from every sale and build an ugly building downtown. But hey.... they remodeled the Fox in 1987 so they'll forever be forgiven.
  12. It's just infuriating how many otherwise normal people believe that there's a problem with counting votes after election day. Like you are supposed to just stop at midnight or something. The sight of a bunch of west michigan and macomb county white people storming Cobo Hall demanding that they stop counting the votes of mostly black people. In 2020. Not 1876, not 1920.... 2020.
  13. I think at this point it is just like the flu. Contagious but hospital numbers are still low. It will never be contained.
  14. I don’t get the reference
  15. I just dropped some friends off who are going to Costa Rica and they didn’t know this. They were happy.
  16. I love that account. My friend and I do that very thing with each other. Mix up people and events.
  17. and until about 50 years ago many religious people thought color of skin and gender would have been one of those curses.
  18. Cheney is more of a conservative than 99.9% of elected GOP officials.
  19. When they say Hussein you know they're serious....
  20. Twitter gives us a false sense of expectation. We see some guy state something in all caps and it makes it appear urgent and imminent. It took over 2 years for anyone to go to jail over watergate.
  21. What do you mean "excuse"? Are you talking about laws and customs? That is where the problem exists. We don't excuse rapists, murderers, and cleptomaniacs because your God tells us we don't excuse them. We don't excuse them because they are committing crimes that exist outside the establishment or existence of any religion. I don't need a God, a Bible, a Koran, or any other religious teaching to tell me those things are wrong. Homosexuality is not a crime. It may be morally wrong according to your beliefs but your beliefs stay with you and nobody else has to abide by them.
  22. I believe the DOJ is doing things but Garland's not going to announce that at a press conference.
  23. I'm not sure there's anything big there. Milley wanted someone to tell him to do it and in his opinion Pence was good enough at that very moment. It was an emergency. Consequences and chain of command be damned.
