  1. We don’t know that he’s “relying on Hinch”. Hinch is the only guy who speaks to reporters. So what he says gets magnified. I’m sure he has input because why wouldn’t he? My “criticism” is more about the article itself trying to position itself to some inside authority or knowledge when in fact it’s just as credible as whatever we all know here. It’s just a guy, or fan, writing. From what I have seen from media outlets no candidate has been confirmed to have been interviewed or to even be considered. Basically the writers looked at guys just below the GM level around the league and said “this is someone they could be after”. Well yeah…. That’s how it works. They will hire someone who is not yet a GM from another org or will hire someone who was a GM but not anymore. There’s only so many of those out there. They will not pull a Matt Millen from the TV booth move. And anybodys opinion on whether the move is good or not will be an uninformed one.
  2. That article of column isn’t really sourced with new info though. He’s making a judgement call that because those are the only names publicly speculated on by members of the media then that must mean those are the only considerations. We don’t know who they are talking to and neither does he or Henning or McCosky or Cody. He’s basically concluding they suck at if because of speculation. I am not saying they won’t screen it up. Just we haven’t seen a reason to assume that yet
  3. Y’all forgetting Jake?
  4. I follow a guy who's been on that tirade for a long time. It's almost all he tweets about. One of those "Why isn't this illegal already" kind of things.
  5. White people had to get out of the city.... and fast. And that occurred in other cities too. San Fran, Baltimore.... whole middle class black communities wiped out. I've been excited about that project for while.
  6. Here's the park overlayed on some others... I never realized the RF fence goes out at a slight >90 degree angle before it juts out even further. That's how it appears to me. https://fantasy.fangraphs.com/select-home-run-park-factors-visualized/
  7. Anyone see McCoskey's article behind the paywall about the fences? He didn't confirm they are doing anything but said there's been a lot of activity with people measuring, checking things out, etc. this year. Engineer types. And he quoted Dusty Baker, maybe incorrectly, that "they're moving them in". I think the simplest thing is to get rid of the angled wall. Straighten that out, add some seats to fill in the gap, without impeding the requirement to have a blank hitting backdrop, and possible move the CF fence in a little to straighten in out.... you still have a deep, but reasonable, OF. And for dollars and sense..... from my seats along the RF line, I can't see that board so there's more advertising eyeballs to see whatever corporate sponsor is on there.
  8. even so... what's the harm still to the driver in the long line? It took him an extra 7 seconds to get to a certain spot? The time to your destination is relatively unchanged via traffic. How do I know this? From Google Maps. When I drive to Flint on a regular basis from Dearborn it's amazing how accurate it is given the nature of lights on Telegraph from the lodge to 75, or whatever awaits me on 96 and 23..... yet it's accurate within a minute from an hour and fifteen away.
  9. and thinking about this some more.... so you are in the long line and a few cars go up and get near the front of the line you are in..... "cutting" as some call it. so what? What's the problem with that? What harm are they causing you? How is your life impacted in a negative way by that? Are they moving in to take up a better seat? To grab the last item off a shelf that you want? Getting a better parking spot? Grabbing the last slice of pizza from the salad bar?
  10. They do merge into the ticket agents. Often there's more security stations than ticket scanners. It's not 1:1. At least at comerica park's entrances that I use. One stop is security then you walk up to the ticket person with the device.
  11. The point I'm trying to convey is those people are feeling whatever pressure there is from inflation every day regardless of a public announcement on inflation and if that has a chance of any deviation from Dobbs in terms of voting preference.... polling should reflect that already. They don't need the media to tell them. I suspect it's baked into the numbers already.
  12. "I don't want you to do what you want to do, I want you to do what I want you to do"
  13. You have to be a mind reader I guess. Groupthink. Everyone's over there so I guess I need to go over there. It's like walking up to a stadium's security area and seeing a long line at one and a shorter line on another so are you cutting by going into the shorter line to get through security and then the ticket scanner person? For some reason this happens a lot at Comerica. People just walk up and pick the first line they see without realizing there's 7 other stations, several with nobody. And it's not special "no bag" lines.
  14. was any of this coordinated with immigration authorities?
  15. Well I would think they should already be "feeling" that announcement for the 30-45 days prior to the official release of the numbers, or else their reaction is just to news, not their reality. If paying more upsets them then it should have upset them before being told a % by CNBC or CNN. That should have been reflected in polling and voting, no?
  16. no offense but that's a very dumb equivocation. I don't think you know what the word trafficking means.
  17. Chicago did it to help the migrants because they are people. DeSantis did it because he's an asshole. He had no goal of helping the migrants. He was using them as pawns. They could have died for all he cared. Yes I believe that 100%
  18. Then bitch that "nobody wants to work".
  19. There isn't. Not to a compassionate human being at least. I'm not any more special because I was born in Detroit than someone born in Ecuador. I will not hide from that.
  20. because they saw a video on Fox News of a Walgreens being ripped off in SF and they have a "democrat" mayor so.... there you go
  21. How are migrants looking for a better life any different than condo owners in FL who got assistance when FL's shitty regulations led to their building collapsing? Why is one group deserving of aid but not the other? Because they won the birth lottery? Ron Deshantis can go fuck himself.
  22. I can’t wrap my head around the idea people think it’s a good idea to put twice as many cars in one lane when two are open. the people who get over right away are the ones who cause the traffic backup. The lane is not closed until it’s closed which is indicated by a barrier blocking the road.
  23. Did he stop at his resort, spend a few days, make the secret service stay there, make them rent golf carts, etc. etc. etc. because you know... "both sides" bullshit.
