what about the people that live there now? That site has nothing to do with the Ilitch org anymore.

I would have liked more than one level. Make the first level about 2/2 of what it is, increase the slope, then another level right above that, then suites, then your upper deck, or put suites lower, who cares. Other stadiums are built that way. When I look at Comerica's seating arrangement it is rather dull, especially the lower level. The rows are too long. I really like Busch Stadium and where the Reds play. The decision about the skyline was also a cost thing ,not just about showcasing the city. The "largest scoreboard" was about cost. Less construction and alas... more ads They've improved things quite a bit with their subtle changes and Chris Ilitch implied they could do more.

According to Fox and "Doctor Oz", referring to someone by their name is cancel culture.

When you look at the polling on who is vaccinated and not and who will never get vaccinated it's very clear there is a partisan divide and the political leaders for each party own that. It's not an accident. One party has been very hands off with pushing vaccines. With a few exceptions GOP leaders say "People should get vaccinated but...." then they throw in caveats and disclaimers. Fuck that. And for as bad as things are in MI now they are not as bad as it got in the south in the late summer.

At what point should Garland appoint a special prosecutor? Every politician that saw this memo and powerpoint should be charged.

When they say "pro trump people" do they mean protesters or.... politicians?

the pilot was shot quite a bit before the reason of the series as that was just to see what HBO thought. Originally David Chase thought it would be just a movie. The season 1 arc was the idea for the movie with a bunch of filler. He told Steven Van Zandt, "I hope we don't get picked up, I'm out of ideas".

Sparky had a quote where he said if he wasn't a manager he would be a painter. He thought it was a good job because if you make a mistake you just paint over it.

So california is going to implement for guns what Texas did to abortion.

There will be demonstrations and riots in Atlanta but nothing will change. The state legislatures and election commissioners will still run the show. Republicans won’t care. Rachel Maddow will have shows about it. Twitter will tell us how awful it is. Lincoln Project and Bulwark will tell us how awful it is. But the new rank and file GOP made up of acolytes of MTG and Boebart and Gaetz and Cawthorne will be victorious. Gerrymandering at he state and congressional level will make urban majorities that represent a literal majority overall in that state into virtual minorities. States like MIchigan and Pennsylvania and Arizona and Georgia will be red. Our presidential elections will become moot. The only hope is more states join the popular vote initiative.

Also treating service and other similar employees (like truck drivers) like garbage disuaded a lot of young people from those fields. Truck Drivers in particular. I mean.... who wouldn't want to be away from their family for weeks on end for $50K a year? Yes we need them to function as a society delivering goods but the power is in the labor now. And truck drivers can often get screwed over by companies. You can make a good living in skilled trades, middle class definitely... but it takes a toll on your body too.

enjoy! I watched it during the original run and twice since.... then last year Michael Imperioli (Christophuh!) and Steven Schirippa (Bobby Baccala) started a podcast, right before the pandemic started, where they review one episode a week. They are finally down to the last episode so I was followed along. It was really a groundbreaking series for making the main character an anti-hero. The writers and directors involved went on to make so many other things.

It wouldn’t matter. What could Atlanta do about it? Nothing. They can’t vote them out. Yes it won’t be legitimate but… what does that mean? We are evolving to majority by geography. The cities, which will have more people, will be governed by the rural because they will outnumber cities in terms of representation in the legislatures. the goal of the GOP isn’t legitimacy or honor. It’s power. By any means necessary. So what if people in Washington are unhappy. Or a bunch of lib labs.

Seriously. I used the cool mint listening this morning. 3 hours ago. Went thru a workout. 3 bottles of water. A breakfast sandwich. A caramel macchiato. I can still taste it

1982 was back when George Will was speculating that Bush was going to dump Reagan from the ticket.

Then they will say “well since it’s all screwed up we need our legislature to decide it for us. They will decide which slate of electors we send. It’s the law”

You know… I’m working from home so… why not? Not like anyones going to smell it. Harry Truma started his day with a brisk walk at military pace and 2 eggs and a shot of bourbon. He lived to be an old man.

You are very rare. Nobody has saved money during the pandemic. But at the same time everyone got big raises.

Yep. The goal is to end democracy. Elections won’t matter. Don’t like the result? Well some no name county election commissioner can just not confirm. A rebel Secretary of State not confirm. State legislatures not validate. A Governor. They are setting things up to create chaos when none existed. Just overwhelm with anecdotes and rumors and half cocked theories and then say “people lost trust”. They lost trust because 1/3 of our population are brain dead and believe anything a guy on TV tells them. We are a nation of Alex Jones.

Right because some people not being able to buy christmas presents never happened until 2021. I guess all those years I was adopting families and buying clothes and toys… I was just being duped. That’s what I get for being an elitist. but I also thought all the shelves were empty? Can you guys make up your mind?

I have to get my son off in the morning super early and as I have said he’s obsessed with that network. Fox News at 5:30 am is something special.
