MAGA is pissed at Barrett again.

and the news has been met with either happiness or a shrug of the shoulders. I've not seen very many criticisms of it.

yes but nobody will pay to go to the movie theater to see those anymore. They want to see it on a streaming service in their home as part of an 8 episode series. If they make a good IP related movie that fills the theaters. Your run of the mill good movie is not enough to get people out of the house for 3-4 hours it takes to see a movie now, plus the added cost of tickets and concessions. For me I think the peak was the early to 90's. Pick a random month and year and you find so many bangers. Every week you could go to the movies and find something great. I think the fall off from that isn't due to quality of content but changes in consumer behavior. These movies people like to bash as unoriginal are often the ones keeping theaters alive. https://www.boxofficemojo.com/month/august/1994/

I quit wearing quarter zips for this reason. It used to be a convenient thing I got for working a couple of conventions. Then the VPs started wearing them in webcasts and such.

now they are poking fun at themselves, which is good. Taking a meme based on a rival's IP and making it your own. HBO Go was pretty awesome at the time, even if it had issues at first.

May 14, 1973 NASA launched a Saturn V rocket for the last time. This wasn't a lunar mission but it carried Skylab, our first Space Station. A minute into the launch there were problems as a micrometeroid shield deployed early and took a solar panel with it. The first Skylab manned crew had to come up with emergency procedures to rescue the mission, which they did. At one point Pete Conrad was stretched out to the max on his tether. He walked on the moon but said he was proudest of this mission. The Saturn V is the only rocket to take man out of earth orbit. It stood 363 feet tall and in my opinion is a beautifully designed piece of work. Magestic. I've seen a 1/10th scale model when they did an Apollo era museum tour here at the Henry Ford a few years ago. I want to see one in person. They have one at KSC in Florida and two in Huntsville. The Artemis SLS vehicle planned is a few feet taller but nowhere near as elegant.

I'd recycle that old Sparky line about Ice Cream with regard to those who don't like Jason Benetti.

Jac Nasser tried to demote Ford, and the Blue Oval, into just a brand like all the others in the portfolio to disastrous results. I still called it HBO Max Max to me meant Skinemax and those shows and movies I heard were on that network back in the 80s and 90s and 00s.

As soon as he was swinging the bat and you knew he'd make contact you knew it was gone. That was miggy-esque in that regard. I wonder what the launch angle and exit velocity were? I always think of a Miggy walk off against Chicago where I swear you can see AJ's eyes roll as soon as he swings the bat like "Crap, he got it"

The reason Tiger fans boo him is because he gave an impression, maybe it's wrong to assume this impression, that he was only going to sign with Detroit because nobody else was out there, not that Boston made him a much better offer. Kind of like resigning yourself to going to the dance with the ugly girl because nobody else is saying yes, until the prettier girl does. To give him the benefit of the doubt, he probably felt his asking price was fair and legit and the Tigers didn't quite meet it and they aren't going to bid against themselves so he was holding out for what he felt he deserved. Why should the Tigers artificially set the market for him all by themselves? Then he got an offer that either met that or came closer to it. Nobody did anything wrong. That's negotiations.

how will those Karens direct their negative energy without those Mexicans outside to be an easy target?

They pretend that Thursday day games is a tradition. USeful for event and group outings for work/school.

Led to a great sketch.

Any link to a Dickerson call?

Tigers only going to Toronto with an off day Thursday and Boston going home with an off day Thursday so I’m sure the Tigers preferred a night game and the rules didn’t prevent it.

His logic makes no sense. “Well they aren’t a threat anymore”. If that were the case then he could have done this in 2015 and just said “he can’t work in the game”. The punishment wasn’t about being a threat.

I don’t understand the point in his statement about Rose being the first person banned by someone other than Landis to die while still on the list. Is that meant to offer up a way out. “Well we never had this come up before so I’m not a hypocrite” three things have to happen for him to make the HOF

oh man.... Was so glad to get to meet that guy when we were able to get in the suite at WM, which I think you organized? I still have the pocket knives and fishing lures he sent me.

We saw something similar at the Grand Canyon. We were leaving after the sunset and something was hanging around the lot and people of course had to "take a selfie". Luckily the park ranger was there to sternly warn them that this isn't a zoo with cages. They will run you down. You are in their bedroom.

That series was written for these times.

I almost texted you when it happened. But I wasn’t sure if the number I had was the same. I had a beautiful view of it from my seats.

Finally caught up on Andor and it's been everything I hoped. If you watched Rebels, this last week leads directly to the season 3, episode 9. Mothma's speech.

Normally I root against Toronto because it's fun but this year I'm rooting for them along with the other Canadian teams, which I usually do.

I think he's dumb in the sense he's not well read or curious about things. But he's not dumb when it comes to presentation and marketing. When we writes something on social media and everybody goes ape ****.... that's intentional. He knows people will make fun of his spelling and mixing things up. I think Bill Maher was right in many ways. What helps him with a lot of his voters is the fact that in the 4 1/2 months how many times have we seen footage of him in the oval office and all of that? Probably more than we saw Biden doing that in 4 years.
