  1. I forgot about the frustration of not knowing the game times for home games until the last possible minute. Wednesdays game has no official start time yet. Makes it hard to plan. I’m pretty sure it’s a 4:00 start since the Yanks are in it. But there could be came 4 for Phillies and Mets that they put on too. Tigers could get stuck with the 1 o clock game. first world problems I know. But baseball is unique in doing this. God forbid fans get to watch 2 games at once.
  2. Not sure this is as meaningful as it sounds. The playoffs have existed since 1969 and they were in the same division every year except for 4 years when the wild card era came about before the Tigers moved to the AL Central. Their only opportunity was during the wild card era and for much of that time they wouldn’t have met until the LCS. They never played the white sox in the playoffs either or the Mariners and they’ve been around since the divisional era came about.
  3. I say that about any team on the road in game 1 of a playoff series. Has nothing to do with the talent or expectations of the participants. They are the lower seeded team and that's the typical terminology used....
  4. This is incredibly satisfying to watch.
  5. I don't think they are worried about making him mad.
  6. I had to mute the word 'haircut' on twitter
  7. Did Skinny Pete and Badger get upset that some blacks were around?
  8. Is that like hearing it said "Impor-ent" instead of "Import-ent". I first noticed this years ago when a young lady was giving us a presentation on our booth layout for a convention and she kept saying "you push this 'buh-en' here, then when you want to bring that up, you push that 'buh-en' over there." Man she was adorable. I blame the Kardashians.
  9. here's his best scene on The West Wing
  10. I'd rather save him for game 2 just because if you can steal game 1, then you are in great shape to come home 2-0. If you don't, you are in great shape for a split on regular rest. There wll be two off days before game 1, and 2 more between games 1 and 3 to rest the guys that go in game 1 and if Skubal has a good game then you only need a couple there. But I see the logic in going 1-4 as well. If they win the series then whatever option they pick will be considerred genius.
  11. and for all we know, Hinch might have helped persuade Ilitch to hire Harris.
  12. You just reminded me of why I shut off alerts from my MLB app. Late in the season I realized they hadn't been showing me stuff, I thought it was a glitch. But you are right. and I wasn't streaming it or anything... just watching plain old fashioned cable. They should put a delay on push notifications of about 20 seconds.
  13. I think Amos fought for his character to die rather than just leave because he didnt want to perpetuate the stereotype of a black man leaving his family.
  14. Unless the Yanks sweep. Typical of MLB they leave fans in the dark until the last possible minute. So we won't know for sure unless there's a split in NY, or a team wins game 3 after going down 2-0.
  15. Some port workers went on strike yesterday so people think that a product that's mostly made in the US will be scarce.
  16. and yes, I think the leader of that Union is a trumpie trying to play games with our economy and supply chain and using the workers as pawns. Biden and the dems need to think about that. Shelves become empty you know who gets blamed.
  17. Most TP is made in the US.

  19. I still kind of can’t believe they won. I left Comerica Park on Sunday thinking that was it. I figured Houston’s experience would win out, and it almost did. That’s playoff baseball. One play in each game is the difference. This team is so much more fun to watch than what we had. Even the good old days. It is easier to accept a 25 year old in his second year striking out than a 35 year old making $18 million. The drama of these games cannot be undersold. This series validated these guys. They didn’t back into the playoffs. They won their games. They weren’t a “just happy to be here” team that to lucky. They beat an org that was a playoff institution and won their own division and more games than the Tigers. The wins weren’t flukes. They grinded out the wins the same way Houston would have had they won the games. You don’t mash your way to wins. You beat throws. You make the routine plays and catches and get the random hit with a guy on base. You get the key DP. LFG.
  20. Ok who is that??!?!! Out yourself now.
  21. Ok fine…. This is ok.
  22. I have season tickets so they asked us if we wanted playoff tickets too. We picked them last week and they said they’d charge us 30% when a home game became guaranteed and will do so every round they win. Better than what they did before when we had to pay for the whole shebang in mid August.
  23. Blame the baseball writers who vote for that. It’s not baseballs fault. Those guys technically didn’t break the rules. But the same knuckleheads that didn’t vote Lou Whitaker in did what you describe.
  24. Seriously… after they went down 2-1 it seemed inevitable. That’s the kind of comeback that shows a different team. It can’t be chalked up to luck.
