I’m pleasantly surprised how many are here.

It looked like about an hour ago the rain was almost done. In fact it did stop. Then it’s been raining pretty good since. And now a huge thunder. I’m thinking they’d won’t play. I’m just reading a book on my kindle in my car. Wish I had a beer.

I’m going by myself tonight. Nobody in my family wants to go, don’t blame them, so I exchanged my other ticket for Friday. (There’s a an orphan seat behind me in between two groups of ST holders). I’d like to see them with a winning record and I haven’t left the house, except for walks around the block since Sunday afternoon.

According to the replies on twitter, it was something the deceased soldier did a lot so it was a tribte to her. I wondered the same thing. Maybe she was a Dio fan.

Maybe instead of a starter having a throwing session in the bullpen in between starts (not a game, practice), they start a game intead and pitch an inning or two.

I also notice they're doing smaller events.... just standing in front of cops in a strip mall or whatever. An old Nixon trick in one of his first campaigns, either the House or Senate, was he had a mole on the advance staff of his opponent. He'd book them in very large spaces so that it looked like nobody was there with the empty seats. 100 people in a 500 person room is worse than 75 in a 75 person room.

If his votes and Jr's votes are more than VPOTUS... wait for him, and the party, to claim that he should win the state. You know it will happen. They might even try to file it in court or as an objection.

I don't know whether what Hinch is doing is the result of injuries or part of a plan, or a combo of both, but it's working so far and it's innovative and the league should encourage that. Maybe they exploited an inefficiency. Or exploited an effiency, whatever. But baseball is like the Catholic Church or other large conglomerate that moves at the pace of a glacier. Don't rock the boat. Play the game "like it's supposed to be played!"

I don't like it for the same reason I don't like banning the shift. You are dictating play. I don't buy a pace of game argument because you've already introduced the pitch clock and other things to get the game moving along, it shouldn't be an issue anymore. A solution in search of a problem.

I remember some casual joking around back in JV's early days that we needed an "opener" for his starts since he "always strugged" in the 1st inning.

Liz is less of a surprise because like Adam, she served on J6, and has been pretty vocal and consistent in her speakings on Trump. Not like Haley. That's where I think there's some value, marginal but every 1/4 point counts, in guys like Kelly and Mattis and other non political members of his cabinet, along with Judge Luttig, to come forward. It further emphasizses the "weird" vs "normal" contrast but doing so in an adult and proper way rather than just making fun of them.

what I like about their connect jerseys is that I could see them wearing them even if that wasn't a thing. The South Side thing has actual meaning because that's where they are based on with them playing in a two team town it's an important disctinction and south siders, the few I know, are proud to be from there. They don't say "I'm from Chicago" they say "I'm from the south side of Chicago"

that's how I see it. If a catcher "frames" a ball into being called a strike... that's on the umpire for missing the call. Not the player.

I think for many who are involved with fall sports school starts in August anyway.... with practices and all that. It leaves less time in the summer to plan vacations. And with younger kids parents are like "Ok, go back already... I love you but I'm also kind of sick of you...."
