  2. Yeah but it’s not 1995 anymore. You are describing how things were and ought to be but that’s not reality today. There is no left wing media anymore. MSNBC is dead ratings wise. The others are folding to DJT. This will get framed as the party with the most no votes shutting it down. There are different rules for democrats and republicans. It has been that way for 10 years now.
  3. I hate having to pay to pay. I get why we do it because it costs the municipality a fee too and if you owe them $$ they want all of it so they aren’t going to eat it. I can mail an old fashioned check to pay my property taxes or water bills. But we never write checks. And checks cost money. And stamps. We have some scattered around but I couldn’t tell you right now exactly where they are. One of 3 locations. I could drive to my bank or credit union and withdraw the money and take it to city hall. But that’s like an hour of time plus gas. I have the money. Right now. You can immediately have it. what gets me is the stupidest pay portal the city uses has a more restrictive password policy than my company. Is there an issue with people going in there and paying bills? Your ID is linked to your property. You can’t go pay other people’s stuff. I have to change my password every time because I can’t remember it every 6 months.
  4. That’s why my wife wasn’t fully on board. She gets too distracted. I’m always saying “watch! You can’t just listen. You can’t fold laundry and watch a show like this. Your eyes need to be looking at everything on the screen. That blurry guy in the back? It matters. That billboard? It matters”.
  5. Won’t they blame democrats?
  6. This is the way. Im halfway thru season 3 now and I’m amazed again at how much I forgot. Being able to binge it helps too.
  7. Cavuto never bugged me. He seemed alright and straight arrow.
  8. Maybe I’m being too naive and optimistic but I think we are going to have 3-4 years of all bark and n little bite . I’m really trying hard not to pay too much attention either.
  9. Members of congress will not all fall in line either. They have to run again soon.
  10. Ah got it. I’d never heard of them when my friend got tickets but I recognized a few songs. Then I realized they had a huge following. Masonic was sold out. I dug it.
  11. I would totally do it. I’m off for 2 weeks. There was a whole sequence in the episode I eat her tonight I totally forgot about. I knew the “who” but was still enchanted.
  12. Where is the Khruangbin reference coming from? I saw them back in April. Great show. I think BCS is better than BB, similar to Godfather II being better than I but also acknowledging that you can’t get that without the other so you call it a tie.
  13. Sorry to hear about your dad. I hope he is comfortable.
  14. They have been doing it for like 6 or 7 years so there’s a lot of movies to pick from. My advice is skip for now the “big ones”. Pulp Fiction, Boogie Nights, Goodfellas, Godfathers. Their criteria is generally post 1970. The reason I say that is you want to get to know their personalities and the inside jokes and references they use. Those movies I referenced were big deals when they did it so they are kind of “events”. You will appreciate it more. The episodes for movies I didn’t like are still good. I remember listening to The Firm twice because it was so funny.
  15. The president is a hypocrite for what he did. No question. I'm just adding other examples of hypocrites. I think Christians who support Trump should keep quiet and sit out on discussions of things like that because they are no better.
  16. Chris Rock had some fun at Elon's expense on his SNL monlogue. Talked about him being an African American. "He's got more kids than the Cleveland Browns"
  17. Personally I'm not high on Bregman doing that well here. It would be a splashy signing for sure but I am fearful of another dog contract in a few years hanging around the team. But I also trust Harris to be able to see that kind of thing and not make a mistake like that. If they sign him it will be for the right reasons. I won't pretend to know more than them.
  18. I listen to a great podcast called The Rewatchables. Run by Bill Simmons and The Ringer network. If you like movies I cannot suggest this podcast enough. They mix in pop culture and sports as you'd expect a Simmons program to do. I look forward to it every week. It's caused me to watch movies I never would have considered (like The Verdict) and to revisit movies I saw once or twice back in the day but never gave much thought to since, recent examples being Running Scared, Sea of Love, and Internal Affairs. I'm currently listening to their Lethal Weapon episode, from 2021, and they talk about it being a Christmas movie and how that time of year in LA is very distinct for people who live there.
  19. it wasn't a brow beating about religion. Some people are just too defensive of their hypocrisy
  20. I'm only bumping this up to mention that I'm doing a rewatch of BCS. I just started season 3, got through the first 2 seasons over the past week. My observations: 1) It's much better the second time around. Seems like the first time too much energy was spent trying to find links to BB and easter eggs, etc. You missed out on things. In the scene with Chuck where he records Jimmy confessing, he's got his house all taped up, etc. He makes a reference to "it all burning down". I remember feeling that the show dragged on and was a little slow. I am not feeling that this time. Maybe it was the week to week waiting. 2) The storylines were tighter than I remember. I thought certain things lingered on longer than they actually did. 3) It's easier to follow the cartel stuff which confused me at the time. 4) I am amazed at how much I forgot. Obviously I recall the overall storyline but smaller plotlines are fresh to me. I remember them immediately but several times I found myself anticipating almost as if I am watching for the first time. Just wanted to throw this out there to anybody else who is considering doing this. I am having a great time and can't wait to watch more every night.
  21. and Lethal Weapon is a superior Christmas movie than Die Hard.
  22. I think it’s wild that people that claim to be Christian are Donald Trump supporters.
  23. This is fun to read. Some that stand out for me that I wouldn't outright hate. 1) Rolling over outs in innings 7-9. Meaning, if in the 8th the first two hitters make an out, you can end that half inning and get 4 outs the next inning 2) Resetting the batting lineup in extra innings. If the 9th ends with the 7th hitter making the final out, you can start the 10th with the top of the lineup. 3) Batter can "steal" first on passed balls/wild pitches, not just on third strikes 4) In a tie game, in the bottom of the 9th, the home team can start with a ghost runner, but they sacrifice their ghost runner in the 10th if htey fail to score.
