  1. He wouldn't have been my choice anyway. You owed it to Tarik to have gotten up one of your better guys, not an edge guy. Then again, they just lost Vest......
  2. Sorry guys, I've may have to take some relief from this and go get my fingernails pulled out.
  3. Have to beat the the other team, have to beat the evil injury gods, have to beat incompetent replay officials.
  4. He's at the Hotel sick (non-covid)
  5. Aaaaaaand it begins.
  6. At least Skubal won't lose this one.
  7. We can hope. Doesn't seem likely the damage to the tibia would be worse than a bruise but if it was high enough to get a knee ligament that might be worse.
  8. So down and in is supposed to be a left hand hitter's happy zone, esp from a RHP, but it's consistent death for W. Castro. Another guy like Niko that probably never should have become a switch hitter.
  9. Grossman and Tork with atem balls to each side respectively this time thru
  10. Not a good sign that he took himself.
  11. I'M NOT PANICKING!
  12. what was Drysdale's record? 55?
  13. Skubal WHIP so far tonight 0.75
  14. So BP day maybe with Elvin Rodriguez Sunday and Brieske gets moved back,
  15. Baez thinking too much now, worst thing for a hitter.
  16. Henning said Kreidler was taking BP from Franklin Perez in FLA. There may be an opening for him --- soon
  17. IDK if hitting is contagious. - could be. If I had to guess it would be that the effect is more in on the pitching side. It's more strain to pitch with men constantly on base, from the stretch, etc., so once some guys start getting on base maybe it gets a little easier for the rest.
  18. It's always advantage pitcher to face guys that haven't seen you before, and vice versa. I believe that is one of the reasons that it's harder to be a good OBP hitter today than in the pre-expansion days when you seldom faced a pitcher you didn't have 50AB against.
  19. IIRC a lefty from TB (McClanahan?) was doing the same thing on the 3b side. It gets your release point closer to the mid line of the field so the theory would be it cuts down the advantage to the opposite side batter.
  20. Dog is also a lefty, so you may have it.
  21. Ironically enough given the outcome the other night, another guy that dives into the ball from an open stance a lot like Javy is..............Isaac Paredes.
  22. Molnupiravir is generally only a 2nd choice when Paxlovid can't be used. The gov bought a lot of inventory which probably helped Merck recoup some cost but either way it's not going to have a big market for Covid, no matter what people think about Ivermectin.
  23. LOL, I'm sure Merck is extremely serious in their efforts to 'protect' Pfizer.
  24. See, this is why I'm a Dog person. I'd like to see a Cat do that. Maybe that's the Tigers problem. Our team is the wrong species!
