  1. The answer should be "yes"... 2022 has made everyone cynical as all get out, but in terms of outfield, there is a world where Riley/Meadows are putting up really good numbers and Vierling/Baddoo/Carpenter are playing well enough where they should be in the lineup most days. Not saying that world happens, certainly injuries will play a factor as well, but if it does, I don't know how easy it is to give Miggy regular ABs...
  2. Clearly... Whats the over under on appearances for Miggy this year... 60?
  3. I'm watching Georgia Republicans in particular... thus far, outside of Brad Raffensperger, there hasn't been a ton of comments that I've seen. And Raffensperger is kinda the one you'd expect to comment given he's decidedly in the "sane" wing. In general, one expects more magnanimity than not.
  4. Incredible...
  5. Finished episode three last night... started like a palette cleanser... boy was that wrong lol
  6. Which reminds me, as a periodic update, still crickets from self described media ombudsmen Glenn Greenwald, Matt Taibbi and Stephen "Red Steeze" Miller.... The fact that two of the three are regular contributors to Fox is probably just coincidental lol
  7. I do think his hair is legitimately in the best shape of his life.... lol
  8. Particularly true given the Tigers situation, given how much turnover they have had over the past six months. Law's read on where they are at, just as Kiley McDaniel's or BA's or whoever, is a lagging indicator, and its stands to reason that there is maybe less value in these takes or rankings in the Tigers situation given that it is more of a reflection of the last regime than the current one. The average fan doesn't follow closely enough to see that, they just see that the situation as it exists today isn't good, so all the "getting bent out of shape" isn't hugely surprising. But as buddha said above, they have new blood, which should at least engender more hope in terms of where they go from here versus if Avila and his cronies were still here.
  9. On a similar note, the Tigers used to have an affiliate in Angola, IN that I assume would have picked up the Williams County portion of NW Ohio and that appears to no longer be the case per the Tigers website.
  10. His Mom moved back to Mexico for periods of time for work and he stayed here. His Dad had passed away. The reasons made sense to me
  11. We'll see one way or another soon enough
  12. The Google Map screenshot on WMTR's website shows their reach as far as Port Clinton in the east... Realistically, 3800 Watts with an antenna in Wauseon probably gets them a little past Swanton lol
  13. What a path he has taken...
  14. A combination of that and the fact that they didn't manage to somehow claim Carlos Correa on waivers
  15. To be slightly serious for just a moment, it does seem early on that Spencer Turnbull is getting an outsized amount of hype from both the writers and the team (in form of Harris/AJ comments, social media). He's kind of the forgotten man, but he has always seemed capable of coming back from TJ and being successful. We shall see.
  16. That's the pure uncut stuff right there.....
  17. I wonder how self-described media critic and Fox News contributor Glenn Greenwald is taking the Dominion release? (SPOILER: crickets)
  18. I dont know enough about each individual/ group at the national level that releases rankings and grades, but I presume that all of them approach rankings holistically. Maybe with some differences in how they weight current talent v. track record / infrastructure / etc. Nonetheless, didn't listen to the podcast, but the quote that you pulled would suggest that Law's opinion isn't just infrastructure or recent track record, some of his ranking comes down to talent and how he views it. I suspect, no different than political polling, it's probably better to just aggregate rather than throwing in with one outfit or another.
  19. To the extent that he missed the mark, it's not so much that the Tigers lack talent generally (they are clearly a bottom third farm system right now) more than there are a handful of systems out there who appear on the surface to actually have less at the moment. The Braves, to their credit, have graduated a ton of talent into the big leagues over the past couple of years and have seen a lot of success with them (including a World Series, which is the point of all of this lol), but objectively, at this current moment, is the talent in the system actually better than the Tigers? Peoples' mileage will vary, but at least one of Keith's counterparts (Kiley McDaniel) doesn't think so, as he ranked their system dead last. In an article about the Braves' ranking, Keith did also state that "I don’t think anyone’s rankings matter – where I placed Atlanta’s system has no bearing at all on the players or the team. It’s just my highly subjective opinion." I assume the same extends to the Tigers - people place a lot of weight on Law's opinions, but other people in the profession may see things differently as well and should be taken into account.
  20. NYTPitchbot idea: "Whether it's Fox News hosts clearly lying about election lies that led to an insurrection or Don Lemon displaying casual sexism, it's clear that both sides of the media divide have similar problems"
