  1. Pretty much. Within the context of BBB, find out what he will do, and take the deal. It sucks, but until you hold your current seats and add some from PA or WI or NC, it is what it is.
  2. His departure was announced on December 14, effective December 23. The announcement lines up with the dating of the EO (although correlation =/= causation)
  3. Going back to the BBB debate, if it isn't clear already, Manchin is a lot more in-step with what the voters in his state want than perhaps we give him credit for.
  4. I tend to be on the more "glass half full" side of these debates, but don't get me wrong, I am definitely concerned about our trajectory after what happened in this last election.
  5. I mean, the memo about Antrim County was basically used as a pretext in this draft EO, which basically would have given discretion to his own Secretary of Defense to seize whatever machines they wanted. The order would have faced a ton of legal challenges and who knows if it would have been allowed to be carried out (objectively, it very well may not have considering how the SCOTUS has handled questions relating to the election aftermath), but it is so painfully obvious what was going on. And yet we'll still hear from the usual suspects doing their Leslie Nielsen impression saying "NBD, y'all are hysterical, move on"
  6. From the memo. Just insane.
  7. Read the never-issued Trump order that would have seized voting machines This would have been an absolute shit-show....
  8. This has been a rough 24 hours.... damn
  9. I read the report. When you tune out all of the noise (ie. "the media", "the left"), the report was still legitimately damning. And no doubt Barr's letter badly misrepresented it's findings.
  10. The logical end to this argument would be that obstruction shouldn't be a crime at all IMO
  11. I've seen Fight Club about 2-3 times and I still am not quite sure I understand what's going on there. But he was excellent in it!
  12. It was by far the most votes in an impeachment by members of the President's party in history. Beating the previous high set by Trump's first impeachment (from Mitt Romney). I think that alone speaks to how slam-dunk the case was.
  13. I didn't read the story but were they mailed to archives in a official state envelope? That seems like one of a number of ways it would be illegal....
  14. How is this effort even legal? Is it legal?
  15. I'm short the Yankees - I think Artie Moreno is gonna overpay
  16. One imagines this could be end of the line for Boris.
  17. The Correa situation is interesting because, again, it's pretty plausible to think that there aren't many (if any) teams willing to offer the kinda stupid money for shortstops that the Rangers did in getting Seager and Semien. The chances the Tigers are in it are practically non-existent at this point, but the only door that looks open to me is some sort of high AAV deal for less years. But still very plausible that someone will give him Lindor money/years
  18. Yes, how DARE Carhartt make a business decision? The horror!
  19. I mean, maybe it's excessive, but it's sort of remarkable to me that a bunch of American commentators have made bitching about how a sovereign country handles its own borders it's lastest outrage of the week. We can all have opinions, I guess, but setting aside the inconsistencies many have, at the end of the day, it's really none of our business. It's between the Australian govt and Novak Djokovic.
  20. So let me get this straight... the same people who bitch and moan about lax enforcement of immigration law in this country find it a crime against humanity when other countries execute immigration law as they see fit?
