  1. I see tons of potential from him. He'll be close to hitting .300 by season end, IMO. He really is the least of our problems. But let's look at 1st base, SS, 3rd base, CF and RF. We have players we put out there but players to build around? Nope.
  2. The best thing I heard about him last off-season was he was really good at getting hit by pitches. 🤣🤣
  3. They may be big league hitters but only on a bottom feeding team. They fit right in on the Tigers where not much is expected of them.
  4. Check out the response from Willy...lol...he would fit right in at MTS...
  5. He's a 36 year old on the downward part of an average career. Did we expect a .320 hitter with 40 home runs? Or a guy collecting a huge paycheck before sliding into retirement?
  6. They're going to fade. I see them losing between 80 and 90 games.
  7. Will Vest shoulda just gone out to the mound and told Hinch to sit down and shut up. Overmanaging game after game with totally foreseeable results. Oh well, it's good to lower fans expectations. We wouldn't want to disappoint them.
  8. Good job AJ. It's good to know you're SO dependable.
  9. Vest looked good. Hinch better find a different reliever to put in and give up half a dozen runs.
  10. Bobby Witt Jr. is going to be a pain in the ass for years.
  11. And they don't play much better at home. Lions first preseason game is in early August...
  12. Tiger announcers are going thru an entire list of excuses for the Tigers. Mound, blister, hang nail, single ply toilet paper....
  13. 60+ pitches in 3 innings. Skubal doesn't have his best stuff today.
  14. Bad hop....just listen too all the excuses these Tiger employees make when the Tigers can't make a routine play. Excuse after excuse. It gets tiresome.
  15. Good approach. Make the pitcher throw a lot of pitches. Maybe we can get to their BP in the 7th or 8th inning.
  16. 2-0 feels much worse with this Tigers offense. Is Dan Petry finding excuses for Skubal's lack of command?
  17. Most picks never reach the majors. There's a huge list of 1st round picks who never made it, even ones who went #1 overall. And then there are lower picks who turn into All Stars. It's baseball.
  18. If people would take a look at baseball 1st round picks thru the years, they might start to understand how difficult predicting what a player will do by the time he's ready for MLB. Baseball drafts are a crapshoot, even early picks. Most drafted players never even make the majors. If they fired every GM who drafted a player who didn't make it, GM turnover would be huge.
  19. He was considered a 3rd baseman when we took him.
  20. Gotta admit, Flaherty has been a surprise. Canha is what he is, a 36 year old with a decent OBP. He would be an excellent fit on a team that's ready to win. But saying we wanted him so the young guys can study and learn from his approach? And them come out of the gate scoring one freaking run a week? Yeah, pure Tiger lip service. He plays for an affordable price, bottom line. But they will NEVER say that.
  21. When Mize went, I remember people saying it was him or Brady Singer. We can't go back using hindsight and finding 3rd and 4th round picks who are better in 2024. It isn't fair to the scouts who can't see 5 years into the future. Were there players you wanted them to take over Mize or Tork?
  22. I'm debating if I even want to keep paying for the Bally app all summer. Getting blown out early or losing late are both reasons to find something more constructive to do. This team really stinks and they didn't seem to make any positive moves this last off-season. Other teams have rebuilt and are contending in the same time period. And the Tigers are just spinning their wheels. How much longer are the fans going to show the patience they're calling for? And yes, this coming from a huge Lions fan...rebuilding since the late 1950's. 🤣🤣
  23. Lol...every team, scout and expert had Mize and Tork high on their board the years they came out. Drafting these guys wasn't a mistake, they were the cream of the crop. Baseball is really hard IRT predicting how good a player will be by the time they make the majors. Skubal was a 9th round pick and look at him, a legit Cy Young chance this season.
  24. We have a few holes. A platoon in one, maybe two, positions is OK. But 4 spots? I dislike these "versatile" guys who can play multiple positions. Yeah, we would get more for Skubal if he was a year and a half away from free agency but you lose the ability to negotiate with him before the trade deadline in '26. I can't even imagine how much he'll get if he stays healthy and stays so dominate. The guy is a freaking horse.
  25. EVs? What's that?
