He has some power and plays pretty good defense but doesn't have a strong or accurate arm. A .270 hitter that just strikes out way, way too much. Strikeouts are only really bad with guys in scoring position, otherwise they're just another out. And I would rather have a player K and use 6 or 7 pitches than pop out on the 1st pitch, or hit a ground ball. I'm sure there are stats showing Riley as a superstar, it's why I know my opinion is unpopular.

I'm more worried about scoring any runs in this game. On paper, yes, it looks like a loss. But Montero has the ability to shut other teams offenses down, at times. And this KC team doesn't scare many people, they mostly win on pitching and defense. It's baseball...expect the unexpected.

Because teams know they're not gonna be able to string together 3 or more hits to score a run. Single, stolen base and another single. And the guy is a base stealer.

To be honest, I root for KC when the Tigers stink. I've liked them ever since their fans gave Miggy a standing ovation when he clinched the Triple Crown in 2012. They showed a lot of class.

Greene did OK. He didn't strike out and he made the pitcher throw a lot of pitches.

Johnny Kane said it in pregame and I repeated it. But Google says it's just a retirement ceremony. Pretty stupid, IMO. But hey, he's a local WS hero for the Royals.
