  1. But it's true. I remember when the Celtics or Lakers would come to town with good records, the Palace would be rocking, a full house. And the team would play way over their heads, trying to prove they could hang with championship type teams.
  2. It seems like a lot of teams are going for multiple utility type young cost controlled players. The Tigers have a few of these types that are actually pretty good wherever Hinch plays them. Yes, having established players all around the field would be ideal but also extremely expensive.
  3. Watch Green Bay lose their last 2 games, making the end of the season...what coulda been for Lion fans. Add insult to injury...
  4. I'm not sure if they will. Maybe Lee but I would say that the Tigers will only bring McGonigle north if he can play every day. Sitting on the bench may stunt his development. Maybe he'll start in Toledo, if Javy struggles, maybe he'll come up?
  5. Yeah, I should have been more specific. The Pistons beat lesser teams 77% of the time. And they perfect? No, they've lost 7 out of 31 games. Gregory Kelser made a good point last night, opposing teams bring their A game against strong opponents like the Pistons, trying to prove themselves. Like...they play over their heads.
  6. Terrible free throw shooting caught up to the Pistons.
  7. You think they should be undefeated? Of course theyll lose some games, it's a long season.
  8. He was doing OK at the end of the '24 season. '25 was an wash, hopefully because of injuries. If he could hit a little, he would make a good leadoff hitter.
  9. And they've won the games they were supposed to. Thats the sign of a good team. And with our record, every team we play has a worse record than we do. The Pistons are a really good team that's very well coached.
  10. And you guys almost got me to admit that I like the Reuben Sandwich at Culvers.
  11. Yes, Javy is valuable at SS. So is Parker in CF. But can our lineup handle both of these guys not hitting? We need to get something offensively at those positions. I say Parker is going to hit, at least, I hope so.
  12. Thats a real safe bet. Hinch has shown he likes to use his whole roster and he likes guys who can play multiple positions. We have 4 guys who can play, or fill in, at 3rd base for example. Also, a few 2nd base options. Quality utility players, it's the way MLB seems to be heading.
  13. When our safeties went down, the Lions changed their defensive scheme from man to man to a zone defense. The talking heads said thats very, very hard to do in season. Judge Shepherd on how the Lions did while healthy, thats how he'll do going forward. I say he had a very good first year of coaching.
  14. Yes to all of this. The players at the skilled positions are some of the best in the NFL. And, while Brad has his work cut out for him, I trust him to bring the Lions back to serious contention. Looking at some of the teams that were in the playoffs last season? Many are either lower seeds or out of the playoff picture all together. The Lions will be fine and there are players who not only know it, but they'll be knocking on the door to play here. In Brad We Trust.
  15. You would be OK if they traded St. Brown or Gibbs? Keeping the established quality players is pretty important. So...no...I don't agree.
  16. I don't want to see or hear it but I think Montgomery will be traded.
  17. No SOL. People need to restrain themselves from the knee-jerk reactions. Yes, we stunk up Netflix yesterday. Yes, our OL played horribly. We'll be back next year with a rebuilt line and a new OC. Look at the Bears from last year to this year. They turned a major weakness, their OL, into a major strength. In one off-season. The Lions still have major talent in the skilled positions. Brad does have his work cut out for him but I see him acquiring free agents and players in the draft that will get us back into serious contention.
  18. Yes, I mostly agree. OL help, a safety and a DL along with an offensive coordinator seem like obvious needs. But the tough schedule? We weathered the teams that we thought would be tough, it was the losses within the division that did us in. If we lose to the Bears, we'll be 1-5 in our division.
  19. The top seeds in both the NFC and AFC last season aren't even making the playoffs this season. True parity...
  20. 2nd coming of the Wayne Fontes years, making the playoffs every other year. 😅😅
  21. I really don't wanna see him calling plays. He's an excellent motivator but calling plays may be too much for him. Too much on his plate.
  22. Calling for MCDC or Holmes dismissal would be like spitting into the wind. Unless they quit, their job is safe for at least a few more seasons. And our window is still wide open, there's a lot of talent to work with for a new OC. We should have our pick of coordinators.
