  1. That is what snatching defeat from he jaws of victory looks like.
  2. Saw on ESPN something that blew my mind. When Pujols hit his first home run, the oldest player in MLB was Jesse Orosco. He was born in 1957.
  3. When's JayMo projected to return?
  4. I still don't get it...
  5. It likely prevented them from resigning Scherzer and/or Verlander. No way to know for sure though.
  6. Why? Seems to me the most efficient way to improve your team quickly is through SP. There are only five, and upgrading your worst 2 SP improves 40% of you staff. Thats huge. Compare that with trying to improve 40% of your lineup or BP.
  7. It's bad, but there's a lot of competition for bad MLB contracts. Off the top of my head here are some pretty bad contracts: Strasbourg, Pujols, Josh Hamilton, Anthony Rendon, Vernon Wells, Prince Fielder, and I'm probably forgetting a dozen pitchers.
  8. Ugh. The country is not going to go for a California liberal in either Harris or Newsom. Not gonna happen. Their only chance is if they run against Trump, and at that point the risk is too high.
  9. If I had to put money on it, I'd say he's not running. I'd really like to see Buttegig (sp?) make a run. I've been impressed in how he doesn't take the Repubs bait, and has a calm nature about him, similar to Biden. Time for the next generation to take over.
  10. Its been a weird two games. They put up a boatload of points, but still hard not to feel like the offense could have been so much better. And at the same time feel like the offense sometimes looks so completely dead you can't imaging how they'll ever score again.
  11. I hope he gets it, but have a feeling he'll end with 699. I wonder if a scrub will come in to serve up #700 at the end if there's nothing on the line the last game of the season.
  12. Its really tough to be optimistic about this team. Just rotten from the top to the bottom.
  13. Its concerning, but as long as they did enough to win, I can't complain. If they didn't have stretches where they looked bad, they'd be the greatest team of all time.
  14. Nice game. There's no way they were going to repeat the first half, but anytime you can put up a 22-0 half, you've given yourself enough of a runway to pretty much guarantee a win.
  15. This game has been pretty penalty free. Great to watch.
  16. Who's this guy that looks and sounds like Christopher Walkin?
  17. Not saying you're wrong, but a little early to declare after one mediocre game and one nice half.
  18. Love the call. Go for the jugular.
  19. Reminds me of this beauty https://twitter.com/playofftanaka_/status/1518793642529464321
  20. Can someone explain the meaning of Special Master and what it means for Trump and the investigation? I don't read the news much and am off twitter and rely on this board for current events.
  21. I use iClouds feature that generates an email address and forwards it. I can view all my generated addresses, which site its associated with and delete it if I want. Super convenient. https://support.apple.com/guide/icloud/what-you-can-do-with-icloud-and-hide-my-email-mme38e1602db/icloud
  22. For people who love it when someone "tells it like it is" they sure are snowflakes when their fee fees get hurt.
  23. Assholes asking why you beat your wife doesn't define your marital harmony. Assholes yelling the election was stolen shouldn't "define elections in recent years". Allowing these nut cases to set the framing of issues drives me nuts.
  24. How do you do that? Walk up to the check in counter with your gas can and ask them to fill it for you? lol
  25. The Mets where somewhat in that situation for a few years. They had two aces in DeGrom and Syndergaard (even though he's now moved on and been replaced by Scherzer) and a mediocre team otherwise. But there was always some excitement around them because you knew if they could just fill out the rest of the team with adequate pieces, they have a chance to be really good. And thats what we're seeing this year with the Mets.
