  1. I miss the 70s and 80s, with the Gillette all-star ballots that needed to be hand punched. I'd torment over my votes for weeks. I think I have some that I never sent in
  2. Any news on Bryce Ranier's injury status yet?
  3. But again, Toronto is 1.5 games out of the wild card. Historically they've been more about trying to win now, than moving toward the future. And making that trade this year makes them worse this year.
  4. I like Sweeney. He plays with heart - that catch toward the end of an Orioles game last season was a pivotal moment for the team. He is coachable, humble and a positive clubhouse guy. I am beginning to have doubts he is a full-time starting SS at this level. Jung needs more AB's to find out what's there. Right now I don't think either is regarded around the league as a highly regarded prospect
  5. I've seen a documentary on it. He was set up. The "victim's" texts to a friend showed she targeted him, discussed his net worth, and even told her friend she would have him choke her. Bauer is a ****, but it sure looks like he got railroaded imho. Maybe after this ruling he will get another shot. He's been pitching on the Mexican league
  6. Toronto is 1.5 back of the WC. They threw out huge bids for several top free agents. I don't see them giving Bichette away cheap. Maybe if Sweeney, Jung and Anderson are included. Baddoo has no trade value. Bichette has received mvp votes 3 seasons. He has regressed, but is still only 27. I hope you guys are right. I highly doubt Toronto will sell from their current producers for prospects, unless the package is very strong. BTW Sweeney's ops+ is 74 and his war is negative. I don't think he has much trade value either.
  7. The horror......the horror.......
  8. Yuck. They'd won 11 straight at Cominsky. Was gonna come to an end at some point. I agree that Holton is a concern, and Hanifee has not been effective. Time to try someone else. Owens?
  9. Bichette would be a half season rental. Toronto is playing well. The price for Bichette would likely be too steep
  10. I still hate the yanks, but it softened a bit because the DD Tigers owned the Yankees in the post season, and my hatred of the Dodgers is higher. And since Big Papi in 2013, the BoSox are higher too. I'll root for the Yanks to sweep Cleveland
  11. Carp had a shot at 4. Meadows with the glove, basepath and bat. Dylan with his first outing. ChiSox slammed down hard. Excellent game!
  12. Weren't a fan of the glad-bag dome?
  13. Damn!! Why on earth would people post such a random lie? To fool naive folks like me!!
  14. Aaron Judge hit 2 dingers. And the Yankees lost 18-2
  15. Want to give a shout out to Tork. He donated 7.5 million to build a shelter for homeless. I did some digging and it's legit. Also saw he does charity to help diabetes research. I've worked with homeless families and individuals for most of my 36 year career, so this hits home for me. You're a good man Tork! https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1CBEaMiw9q/?mibextid=xfxF2i
  16. One plus, Keith had 2 hits. His average in now north of .230 and his OPS north of .700. Maybe he is about to have a streak
  17. Lol, I understand the need to vent!
  18. They were a playoff team last year, are over .500 this year and have a top 5 player in MLB. Their offense is lacking but they're hardly aaaa. Wacha has an arsenal mix like Bibee and Hendricks, and all gave the Tigers problems.
  19. Cobb doesn't sound very close to me https://www.freep.com/story/sports/mlb/tigers/2025/05/31/detroit-tigers-alex-cobb-rehab-start-with-high-a-west-michigan/83962512007/
  20. Sometimes you tip your cap. This outing dropped Wacha's era to 2.88
  21. Carp in the OF reminds me of Gibby.
  22. If only thorough stats had been kept for Josh Gibson
  23. Whew......a finish that was papa grande-esque!
  24. How does Tampa still have a team?
