  1. Wonder if Bregman regrets not taking Detroit's deal now
  2. They're overusing the bullpen again. Need Olson back.
  3. Twins got swept by the surging Astros, and KC just got swept at home by the A's. Cleveland is down 5-0 today. Central is slumping hard
  4. Looks like I missed an ugly game. When Elly is in a groove, they are a good team.
  5. Kenta Maeda is getting shelled in aaa. 5 games, 16 IP, 21 ER, 2.313 WHIP. Some of that is him making adjustments, but he is likely pitching his final professional games. Time to hang it up
  6. Yep, I see a dfa in Brebbia's near future
  7. With Victor Reyes batting 3rd and Baddoo hitting clean-up?
  8. Just think - Hack Wilson once had 190 RBI in one season. And he consumed 380 bottles of whiskey that same year!
  9. Well said. And re: feted gods - with aau teams, this special treatment can start around age 12. Certainly see this with basketball, and I assume baseball as well. AJ seems to be managing egos well - team first, all in.
  10. McGonigle at WM - 5 for 5 today, avg up to .429, ops 1.243 in 77 at-bats. Erie must be calling soon.
  11. It seems like more often managers try to avoid the dreaded third time through the line-up. It does take a toll on bullpen arms as the season wares on. Per Yankees fans, the reason they didn't match Kahnle's offer (and he openly stated he wanted to stay) was that his production historically drops off toward the end of the season.
  12. I'd watch their feed whenever they played Detroit. Imho Stone is the best
  13. Francisco Liriano comes to mind. I saw him pitch in person several times his rookie year. His hard slider was awesome, but he threw it all time time. Tommy John the next season. Decent career after, but nothing like his rookie season.
  14. I agree......for every Skubal example, there are also Michael Fulmer examples.
  15. That's my take, spot on. Well said.
  16. Brieske's era is up to 6.55. Might be time for him to reset in Toledo
  17. What was the tweet about?
  18. Thanks - it happens. Minnesota state DHS got cut 300 million. Many programs will be getting cut. It does suck. Bit I have been in my field 36 years. Already have 2 potential options.
  19. My family visited the Toledo zoo in 1971. Didn't see Klinger. I remember weird stuff like that. And that Al Kaline never hit 30 dingers. And Carew hit .388 in '77. Same year Foster hit .320 with 52 and 149.
  20. Wonder if any pitcher with a 3000 spin rate has avoided TJ for an entire career?
  21. Fugly game today. Updated my resume during the last 2 innings. My job is getting doge'd. That was more pleasant than the last 2 innings
  22. Yep, those days of getting excited to see a .650 ops Gibby wouldn't go along. I remember Shep hyping Castro up, and Gibby intervening and saying an everyday player should have a .750+ ops. Popped Shep's bubble
