  1. I agree, that may be the greatest single season ever for a pitcher. But it's also important to factor in the higher-mound era as a context. Juan Marichal actually had 2 more complete games that year (30). He averaged 8.6 innings per start, while Gibson averaged nearly 9. But again, I do agree. And of course, Koufax had an amazing run just prior to 1968 I believe Pedro Martinez had even better seasons during his amazing 5-year run. Pedro's era was more than a full run less than any other pitcher in baseball.
  2. I use youtube, mostly for music and sports, and Facebook to keep in touch with old friends. I am also on linkedin, but none of the other apps like Instagram, x or tiktok.
  3. Errol Mann will hit a last second FG
  4. Kershaw vs Scherzer. Both drafted in '06, first faced one another in '08. Likely last time today. Watching it right now
  5. I wish Dickerson was full time tv. Great to see Matt V take em home tonight. I'll never forget last season in their run, when Vierling scored and popped up waving his fist. They need his energy right now. Excellent win!
  6. Been busy binging Hogan's Heroes
  7. The Brewers just had their best 60 game stretch in franchise history, 44-16 MLB-leading Brewers cap best 60-game stretch in club history https://share.google/PDtcuNXTEg4aNRw9n
  8. Wonder why the Yankees haven't promoted Spencer Jones to the big club yet? Dude is crushing in aaa Spencer Jones College, Amateur & Minor Leagues Statistics | Baseball-Reference.com https://share.google/0ug3XcFC8QP9Hhfle
  9. Greene is going to get hot again. He's been incredibly hot and cold all year. That will help. Now the bulllpen, that's another story. Maybe pitching chaos over time takes a toll? I miss senior smoke and Guillermo.
  10. Blue Jays just pounded out 63 hits in their 3 game series with the Rockies. That's the most hits in a 3 game series since 1900. Yowza!
  11. I agree. If Illitch did fire Harris, several teams would be in line to snatch him up. He has built a solid system
  12. Greene is overdue for a hot streak. Or so I hope
  13. AL truly is up for grabs. No team stands out. Harris was worried about trading a player who would come back to haunt the Tigers. Wonder if he thought that missing the playoffs might haunt the Tigers as well.
  14. Juan Soto hit the dinger. Cleveland hasn't had a no hitter in 45 years. Len Barker's perfect game?
  15. Home run by Mets breaks up the no-no
  16. If scores hold up, Cleveland will be 5 back in the L column
  17. Hi likelihood there will be a lockout in 2027. Might impact Skubal's decision
  18. Don't look now, Guardians are 6 back in the loss column
  19. I believe so. I believe Hernandez was the next to last. Senior Smoke and Bergman passed many years ago. Can't think of any other players off the top of my head.
  20. I swear I see Joe Coleman warming up the Bill Freehan in the field of dreams bullpen, while Rocky Colavito and Chet Lemon are tossing in the outfield.
  21. Thompson and Kemp were also favorites of mine back then
  22. Me too. Meyer and Leon Roberts.
  23. Dan Meyer was tearing it up
  24. Glad to see Morton pitched well. He could be a significant addition, especially given all of his post season experience
