Klondike Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 isn't it about time Hasse did something. Like, anything positive. Lately, even his handling of pitchers isn't up to snuff, compared to Rogers. Quote
AZTigersfan Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 Tork may need to sit. His ABs are getting worse as this slump continues. That was just awful Quote
Tigermojo Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 Foley on the bereavement list. Wingenter takes his spot. Quote
Crazy Cat Gentleman Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 Greene ties it up with a 2-out single. Quote
Crazy Cat Gentleman Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 Vierling with another 2-out RBI. 4-3 good guys! Quote
Crazy Cat Gentleman Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 ohhhhhh, Tork almost had a 2-bagger there. just foul. Quote

But then he proceeds to demonstrate how he's still a bit over matched by good MLB pitching with his second K. Edited August 9, 2023 by Dtrain72 Quote

gehringer_2 Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 Tork needs to back off and stop trying to hit every pitch to Toledo. 1 Quote
Crazy Cat Gentleman Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 (edited) maybe this guy ran out onto the field to give Dan and Andy extra time to talk about Miggy's 2013 homer off of Mariano Rivera. Edited August 9, 2023 by Crazy Cat Gentleman 1 Quote
Dtrain72 Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 I think we all knew Harvy was gonna strike out again there.... Quote

I don’t think you’re a Debbie downer but to be fair you do seem to focus a lot of your frustration on Tork. The whole team has under performered at the plate outside of Greene and maybe Carp. We have for the last 3 years. Different players, same results. Underperforming, regression, or under developed. Perhaps there’s more to it that players just “suck.” Every broadcast against a good team we hear about something innovative they do to help their hitters. When’s that last time we’ve heard the tigers doing that? Definitely not recently. Quote
gehringer_2 Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 Mickey Redmond looking pretty hale and hearty. I wonder if he'll be traveling with the team more this season. Quote

Fair enough, and tbf to Tork, he is statistically progressing this season, but then again, he's a #1OA draft pick, who's cealing appears to be on track to be an average at best MLB player, which is great for this diaper fire offense I reckon. Further, your point plays into another side of my Debbie-Downer-ness: my criticism of this team under AJ and how they dont seem to develop offensively under his tenure up to this point, they are bad at the plate. That is probably a perfect match for supporting pitchers, not sure it's that much real help to hitters. At this level, hitting is as much between the ears as it is the mechanics. In Tork's case in particular, I think the idea of a few more days off here and there seems an obvious move to which Hinch seems oblivious. Just from his body language you see nights it looks like the game is wearing on him. Edited August 10, 2023 by gehringer_2 1 Quote
