I really enjoyed Detroiters, and sometimes cringe comedy is too much for me, but the added elements of mystery and the surreal in this first episode and where it might lead really has me hooked. It’s cringe and Lynchian at the same time. It's clear Jim Downey's character is up to no good! Quote

I used to work with a guy like Jamie; Thought the world revolved around him. He’d trip on stairs, land two flights up with a dozen donuts in one hand and a gourmet coffee in the other. Only child with a rich dad and behaved exactly as you’d expect. People cheered when he left. 1 Quote
MichiganCardinal Posted October 30 Posted October 30 Started and finished The Pitt in about a week. Fantastic. Normally I watch the Emmy winners and don’t get why people are so enamored, but this one I get. 2 Quote
Cruzer1 Posted October 30 Posted October 30 I just have to say that I love Desi Lydic Her camel toe joke tonight was legendary. Quote
chasfh Posted November 7 Posted November 7 (edited) I watched the first episode of Death by Lightning on Netflix last night, and it is off to a legitimately great start. I can hardly wait to watch episode two today. Edited November 7 by chasfh Quote
IdahoBert Posted November 7 Posted November 7 Apple TV+ series Pluribus is pretty cool and I’m watching the first two episodes that dropped simultaneously. The “hive mind” thing is pretty salient and gripping. 2 Quote
IdahoBert Posted November 7 Posted November 7 And apparently Vince Gilligan, who did Breaking Bad and Saul, etc. really likes Albuquerque because a big part of this story is taking place there. Quote

It also makes for some funny moments, such as the waitress from TGI Friday, still in uniform, flying the plane. 1 Quote

He likes the tax breaks. I watched the first episode, and I think I'm in for the rest. 100% on RT right now too. 1 Quote
IdahoBert Posted Sunday at 05:06 PM Posted Sunday at 05:06 PM Last night I tried to watch the TV series “Invasion“ on Apple TV about an alien attack on Earth. And initially I thought the low ratings from critics claiming the series’ great flaw was its “slow burn“ pacing was due to their impatience. But I now think they’re right. The series methodically follows a series of unfolding events within several clusters of individuals and situations, and the repetition and the not knowing becomes tedious. What I learn about the human condition and human motivations from Invasion - allegedly one of its goals - seems unworthy of the time spent. And it is so slow that it even undermines its capacity to entertain. I ended up watching a 25 minute summary of the first two seasons of Invasion on YouTube and that was more entertaining than any of the individual episodes I ended up watching. Now that I know what’s going on, even though some of the “suspense“ will be undermined, I might try to go back and watch it and perhaps I’ll find it less annoying. Quote
Deleterious Posted Monday at 10:22 PM Posted Monday at 10:22 PM The Pitt will be shown uncut on TNT starting December 1st. None of the language, nudity, or gross medical stuff will be edited out. Good for those that don't have HBO. Quote
Biff Mayhem Posted yesterday at 02:31 PM Author Posted yesterday at 02:31 PM I started Severance based on @Edman85’s recommendation. I’m thoroughly confused and intrigued. I’m all in. Quote
oblong Posted yesterday at 02:42 PM Posted yesterday at 02:42 PM We started it earlier this year, about halfway through season 2. After 45 minutes I was ready to give up but then the closing of the first episode got me hooked. This is definitely a show you go back and watch again to pick up on things you missed. I'd have dreams about it. Quote

Gonna be tough to top that first season. I guess I am going to cave in and get Apple TV. I trust Vince Gilligan completely. Plus I have never seen Severance and Ted Lasso Quote
