Exactly this. This is not a person who is a rational Democrat, or a rational liberal, or a rational anybody representative of anything. This is a guy who's probably mentally ill who has latched onto this issue as a conduit for acting out. He could have done the same thing because he hated a certain movie. Who knows. But his moving forward some sort of peace process was nowhere on his mind, so it would unfair to hold the Palestinian people at large, or even leadership tasked with representing Palestinian interests, responsible for his action. Motown Bombers Posted yesterday at 03:11 PM Posted yesterday at 03:11 PM It’s totally fair to hold this free Palestine movement responsible. If it were MAGA killing liberals, Trump and the rest of the MAGA klan would be held accountable. The left has a growing extremism similar to MAGA. Quote
oblong Posted yesterday at 03:11 PM Posted yesterday at 03:11 PM if one cares about internet comments many people in the arab/muslim community around me feel like this was a mossad operation. But I will play devils advocate and say that it's convenient to say that when someone on "your side" does something bad, we just write it off as a crazy person, but when someone on the "other side" does something bad, we say it's part of their idealogy. I'll go on record and say that I'm certain there's people in the leadership that are not upset over this other than how it reflects their own interests in getting aid and solutions. But dead Israelis? They don't care and they don't mourn. 1 Quote

The company’s “whitening of Seattle is structurally racist and a direct danger to all workers who live in that city,” he said. “So do we in Chicago and all across the country want a nation of cities dominated and occupied by massive corporations where only the rich and white can live and the vast majority of us must live on edges of the city and society living in deeper and deeper poverty?” Quote

I’m talking about the Palestinian people, and the leadership out of Hamas that represents their interests. They’re not all one and the same. In any event, I don’t believe there’s a fair equivalence between Trump/Republicans and TBD/Democrats. Democratic Party leadership do not kowtow to and encourage the most extreme elements of the far left, who make up probably low single digit percents of the entire spectrum that’s left of the 50/50 center. But the extreme right is representative of the Republican Party, Trump and his “brain trust” do kowtow to and encourage them, and that far right makes up a way, way higher percentage of that side of the center, maybe a quarter of them or more. People who’d be willing maybe not to die for their cause, but at least to kill it for it. The numbers of the far extremes of both sides and their influence on each party’s leadership and general political direction is not even close to equivalent. Edited 4 hours ago by chasfh Quote

The extreme left is the Tea Party circa 2008. It hasn't advanced to the stage of MAGA right now. You do have prominent people in congress on the left who want to eliminate Israel and say elections were rigged. Democrats need to end this instead of letting it take over the party. Biden started to cater to the extreme left and absolutely got crushed by it. Quote
