Motor City Sonics Posted November 4 Posted November 4 I don't think they're going 16-1, so they're gonna lose one of these games, right? Right? Now 15-2 --- that's a lock ! By the way TP, 6-11 is not possible now. You may have missed that one. Quote

Lions remaining schedule... now of course: Any Given Sunday and injuries might be a factor, etc. etc. etc. But, on paper: @ Texans: The Texans are good and it's at their place, but Lions will have Jamo back and hopefully some DL help. This won't be an easy win, but I think the Lions are the better team and enough better that they can make up for it being a road game. On paper: Win. Jaguars: A 2-7 team coming to Detroit. On paper: Win. @ Colts: They may not be horrible, but they're also not good. On paper: Win. Bears: After some early success, Bears are falling off a bit. Like the Colts they're not horrible, but they're also not good and it'll be in Detroit. On paper: Win. Packers: If they get healthy, especially on defense, they may be tougher. But the Lions also played without Jamo, without Branch for most of the game, and may have some defense help coming via trade, so that should offset the Packers possible gains via healthy people. Plus we beat them in their house, now they have to come here. On paper: Win. Bills: 7-2, but they're coming to Detroit. I haven't watched much Bills this year so this is hard to say. This may be one of the tougher teams we're facing this year down the stretch. Still, the Lions have a better record right now and this will be a home game. It's close and will depend on a LOT of factors between now and then, but right now... On paper: Win. @ Bears: We'll have to see what the Bears do between now and then. Do they find themselves and start putting it together? If so, then maybe this is a tough outdoor contest. However, right now it doesn't look like that will happen. On paper: Win. @ 49ers: The 9ers had some injury issues, but so have the Lions. If they get their weapons back and get on a roll this will have to be re-evaluated. However we can only go based on what we know right now. On paper: Win. (But! I reserve the right to re-evaluate later.) Vikings: We beat them in Minnesota, we should be able to beat them at home. On paper: Win. It would not shock me if the Lions win out. I'm not predicting it because there are going to be lots and lots of things happening. But purely looking at it on paper, it's reasonable to expect a win in each remaining game. Quote

Something that reminds them that they are beatable, because in order to win it all, you need a little bit of that fear in the back of your head. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted November 4 Posted November 4 Outside of the 1-7 in the red zone against Tampa, they could be 8-0. I don’t even know any cheap wins they got. They were in control for most of that Minnesota game. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted November 4 Posted November 4 The Lions have the second highest strength of victory in the NFC. Only Tampa’s is higher in large part because they beat the Lions. Quote
Hongbit Posted November 4 Posted November 4 The overall record doesn’t really matter as long as they get the #1 seed and the bye and home field throughout the playoffs that comes with it. Quote

It would shock me if they went 16-1. Teams just don't do that anymore (though the Chiefs might because their division is so soft). The last time a team only lost one game was the 2015 Panthers. Before that, the 2011 Packers. Before that, the 2004 Steelers. None of those teams won the Super Bowl either. It's hard to sharpen iron when you're not getting battle tested. To find a one-loss team that won the Super Bowl, you have to go back to the 1985 Bears. Which, hey, if you want to call Dan Campbell the next Mike Ditka, might as well go all in. There's a lot of season left to be played though and I expect at least one close loss and one stinker too. I'll guess a close loss to the Packers and a stinker at Chicago. 14-3, still good enough for a first round bye. Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted November 4 Posted November 4 If they want to go 16-1 they have to make a move for a pass rusher - at the least. They won't get away with not pressuring the QBs forever. 1 Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted November 4 Posted November 4 Prediction: Aman Ra suspended for Houston game for head stand Then Lions beat Houston by 70 while each O-Lineman catches a touchdown pass thrown by a non-QB. DETROIT-VS-EVERYBODY. It ain't just a slogan. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted November 5 Posted November 5 I’ve said it before, but I think Goff has a little Drew Brees in him. Elite accuracy with adequate arm strength who likes to rip those intermediate passes. Campbell was around for the end of the Brees era, and this team really looks like this Saints teams. They had a great duo at RB with Kamara and Ingram, speed guy with Cooks, and the high volume pass catcher in Thomas. I don’t believe all were on the team at the same time, but you can see a lot of that Saints offense on the Lions. 1 Quote
lordstanley Posted November 5 Posted November 5 I wish we could push a button and have it be mid-January right now. The way the Lions are playing right now, and with no other teams really stepping up in the same way and with the Lions being quite healthy except for Hutch, the Lions would be heavy favorites to win 2 home games and advance to their first Super Bowl, where they’d likely be favored in that as well. I’m just worried about some bad break in the next 2 months, lol. I just wanna get on with it! Quote
Sports_Freak Posted November 5 Posted November 5 Houston is undefeated at home. In my predictions, I had the Lions splitting the games against the Packers and Houston, going q-1 in the 2 games. But with the way we play on the road? And the way we play in prime time? Win them both!! 😆😆 Quote

Watching the Chiefs last night, why are teams trading them quality players? Where would they be without Kareem Hunt and DeAndre Hopkins? And Hopkins is just learning their playbook, they're going to another Super Bowl. Edited November 5 by Sports_Freak Quote

MichiganCardinal Posted November 6 Author Posted November 6 Hurricane Rafael is on track to possibly make landfall in Houston on Sunday. I'm sure the NFL is keeping an eye on it. Quote
