It gave him the power to be in that building today. And in that room today.

So yeah, being a Senator does give you abilities that a normal person doesn't have. Same goes for GOP members as well

So being a member of Congress gives you the right to barge in anywhere you want and start demanding things?  You know damn well that's not true and are just too stubborn to admit you're wrong.

He didn’t barge in. The FBI literally escorted him into the room.

Having to check in at the door doesn't mean he was "literally escorted" in.  It also doesn't mean he can resist the same FBI agents when being escorted back out after acting like a moron.

It’s literally part of his job as oversight.

So he didn’t barge in. Glad we settled that.

Now if only you'd admit that he was wrong for what he did, we could put this stupid political stunt to bed.

It could be a political stunt, but what if parts of the government are not following the constitution? I don't know if that is what happened in this specific case, but is it not the responsibility of elected leaders to do something about it?

He was allowed to be in that room, yes.

I also truly believe what I am saying and don't need you to condescend to me about how "stubborn" I am

As much as we revere MLK today, a lot of what he did at the time was decried as being provocative and counterproductive.

When I see people rant about "political stunts", that's what my mind goes to.

So because he was allowed in the room he's allowed to act however he wants?  He's allowed to resist officers when told to leave?  You keep carefully arguing certain points while completely ignoring the totality of events.

He told to leave? I didn't hear that.

Hell, rewatching the video, I'm not sure more than six seconds lapsed from the moment he started speaking to federal officers laying hands on him.

Seems pretty clear to me that federal officers escalated this situation and deserve the brunt of the blame.

Says the guy saying that a federally elected representative from California, and someone who was born, raised and lived in Los Angeles, who dared to ask a question of an unelected federal bureaucrat who is carrying out a policy that his constituents largely detest, is the real bad guy here.

Trump does not want people who came to the country illegally to get citizenship, you need to apply through proper channels.

Oh, btw if you did apply, Trump is throwing you out.

It was never about following the rules or law and order.

He wants the effing browns gone.

(Nice self own Cubans!)

The Biden administration announced in 2023 that it would grant parole to qualified migrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela who submitted to review by authorities rather than attempting to enter the country illegally. Applicants were required to have an American sponsor or US-based sponsor who’s lawfully present in the country and clear security vetting.

If only Padilla had the decency to act better, like MTG and public hand job girl.

Biden didn't have MTG forcibly removed. His reaction to her was perfect. I think this is the only time I have seen have any sort of shame.

@GalagaGuy Please explain where Padilla screamed. I wouldn’t even describe his tone or volume as shouting, not even close. You chose to describe it that way-own it.

Quote me in error?  I’m in the mountains right now so Internet has been sketchy, not sure if there is something there or if it’s actually blank.

I don't think he's the genius you make him out to be.  Sure, he's a great salesman, but I don't think everything he does and says has a reason behind it.  I think he's full of ****, but knows how to sell it and at this point he surely knows that the entire Repubblican party will go along with whatever he he says.

You can’t prove that I make him out to be a genius, unless you believe were he to display any shred of purposefulness, that would qualify as genius.

I don’t know why you seem to be so knocked out by the idea that Donald Trump might actually have a clue about what his mission is and how he might accomplish that. Do you think he’s some sort of randomly-behaving id baby incapable of forming a coherent thought or of understanding the effect his actions have?

Are we really to the point where we're going to argue over a scream vs a shout vs a yell vs a raised voice?  I'm just not going to do that.  You can't possibly look at that video and be okay with what Padilla did.   Reverse the politics of those involved and your position changes, doesn't it?

It’s OK to be against what Padilla did. That’s a fair debate. But, all due respect, it’s just that when you misrepresent by exaggerating what Padilla actually did in an apparent attempt to strengthen your point, it looks histrionic instead, which makes it harder to take seriously.
