A couple things happened while I was enforced away:

Trump and Hegseth murdered a boat of people for whom the previous and extant justification for extrajudicial killings was not proven in any way beyond "just so" rationalization.

The existing process for dealing with such a boat is to shoot out its engine and board it to make arrests and seizures.

Meanwhile, the leaders of the alliance of Trump's would-be friends got together in Beijing to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the end of World War2 and to stab at the heart of the West's post-WW2 political order of NATO and the East Asian democracies we helped build through blood and treasure.    They even got Vietnam to attend which fricking hates China but they know the US is a terrible ally at the moment.

Xi knows how valuable alliances are...why doesn't Moscow Donnie and Drunken Pete?

What a treat to wake up, check out this forum thread, & see that Saturday morning trolling is still the choice of some members.

maybe later, you can go out and kick some dogs, poke a toddler in the eye, or loosen a spoke on a wheelchair.
You know, weekend fun!

Your premise is shoot first ask questions later. I think that is a very dangerous precedence to et, whether it is over a trunk full of weed or a boat full of drugs. Furthermore, the military didn't know that Iran Air Flight 655 was a passenger jet. They followed your mantra of shoot first and ask questions later and 290 innocent people died.

By his telling, his training was shoot first  and ask questions later.

Holic, is the US a good ally at the moment?

Also, now that we’ve established that Trump has been an FBI informant for years we will gladly bask in the file of all the other organized crime figures that Trump rolled on over the years.

So, ….. Let’s see … now he’s in line for a medal of honor ?  congressional medal of freedom ? or maybe a purple heart ?

All in addition to his Nobel peace prize, of course.

It’s exponential grade lunacy.

So, we will go from a guy who sexually abused women and children to a man who sexually abused couches.   How long before the transition to Thielism?

I just have one question for you.  What did Trump get from the summit?

You may be on to something. Maybe we could bury him alive in medals and trophies.

Maybe we could rebuild Alcatraz as a golden palace, and tell him it's his kingdom.

Lesson learned: You do not put a dying reality TV show celebrity and a drunken national socialist in charge of your defense priorities.

I guess it on one level it might be ironic that the CPP should throw a big party for the victory in a war they didn't have all that much to do with, but OTOH, Nationalist ineptitude and corruption in the war effort did a lot to catapult the CCP into power when it ended, so in that sense the War is something for the CCP to celebrate.

And of course it's also a chance to take a swipe at the US by playing 'our' role.

Apropos of nothing, I'm going to guess that you posted this from a phone, perhaps an iPhone, and your autocorrect changed "War" to "WAR". 😃

I trust people who actually know the law than some schlub on the internet or a talk show host with no qualifications to be Sec of War

Corn, a law professor at Texas Tech University, noted that critics have condemned U.S. drone strikes since 2001 against militants in Afghanistan, Iraq and other countries as extrajudicial killings, but those strikes were legitimate, he said, because the U.S. was engaged in an armed conflict under the laws of war against al Qaeda and other terrorist groups.

Brian Finucane, a former State Department lawyer who is now at the International Crisis Group, said that designation of drug cartels as terrorist groups doesn’t authorize the use of military force against them. Rather it enables the U.S. to levy sanctions and pursue criminal prosecutions against individuals who support the groups.

Nor can military action be justified under the law Congress passed authorizing the use of force against al Qaeda and related terrorist groups following the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, experts said.

For the military to use force, “there needs to be a legitimate claim of self-defense in international waters, an action that is necessary and proportional in response to an armed attack or imminent armed attack,” said Juan Gonzalez, who served as the National Security Council’s senior director for Western Hemisphere affairs during the Biden administration. “That clearly didn’t happen.”

None of this matters until Trump is penalized in substance for doing this.

Moscow Donnie is short-sighted: he's only after the money and the glory, nothing more. He knows the way to the money and glory is to destroy America and remake it in his image, and that's what's happening right now.

Drunken Pete is a cipher at the behest of Moscow Donnie's cause. DP has no decision-making authority beyond tactics in the moment. That's why he is more focused on rooting out so-called "woke" in the military rather than maintaining the traditional focus and strength of our forces. It's the only facet of his job in which his authority goes practically unchallenged, because in the short term anyway, it doesn't affect the readiness of our forces.

So, is he declaring WAR against us?  Because they gather up people without regard to their status, and they terrorize OUR streets. Where WE live.

He’s like a damn 3rd grader with his stupid memes and tough talk.
Except, of course, he’s sending troops without proper training, but WITH real guns.

The thought in my head is “how ****ing DARE he”.  😡

No, I was not posting from a phone.  I may have been thinking ahead to capitalizing the I's for II.  I make so many typoes now.  I think it's an age thing.
